Unfortunately during booking it wasn't clear that the bathroom was shared and I take responsibility for this but with the empty hotel when we said that maybe it was a mistake no one offered us a room change. As I said before it was my fault. The incredible thing is highly disappointing was the bed.... the mattress looked like a completely drowned piece from the basin down while my bust was stomped by a thousand moles all night long. When I complained to the receptionist he told me that the hotel wasn't his and he couldn't do anything about it. My way of looking at the structure doesn't deserve 3 stars. The pub and it doesn't deserve to be visited by sympathetic receptionists.

The worst bed ever

I stay in a lot of hotels around Europe but this is got to be one of the best one, the staff really look after you and go out of there way to make sure you have everything, all the staff are great but a special mention to Jan and the manager but all the staff are lovely :  ) rooms lovely food great! I’d highly recommend this hotel,

Stayed for one night while visiting the BME. Our room was spotlessly clean, nice (but small) ensuite but fine for our needs. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment but for the price- amazing! Great location a couple of minutes walk from Liverpool South Parkway so access to the city centre is easy (less than 20 mins). Would definitely stay here again!

Can't Fault It!

We stayed in the palatine last weekend, very nice place welcoming staff, the bedroom was warm and cosy and had everything that we needed. We ordered some bar food, the prawn toast and spring rolls... lush. Would definitely stay here again,

It's super place. The warmth and welcoming 10/10. Staff excellent. Spotless and beds so comfortable. Can't wait to go again. From. Airport taxi, or any bus to Liverpool southpark way 5 buses an hour. You must visit this hotel/bar and the food is so nice. Excellent.

Was a really nice stay, room was very clean staff were friendly, only thing i would of liked was a key so you can let yourself in and out rather than waiting each time to be let in or maybe a key code

I'm currently staying at the Palatine Hotel. I'd normally wait until I leave to review a hotel but I just had to write a review.

I booked the hotel early hours of this morning when I arrived at my friends house just down the road in Speke, after a long drive from Plymouth I was absolutely shattered. I called the hotel about 930am and explained I know check in is 2pm but could I check in any sooner. Straight away the gentleman on the phone said your room is ready come whenever. Which was fabulous! 

I'm arrival I was greeted by a lovely lady, who explained the single ground floor room I'd booked was small would I like to go upstairs and have a bigger room. I said absolutely. The room I have is absolutely lovely. Really cute and cosy and Immaculate. Definitely an upgrade from what I'd paid for as its a double room. So this is very appriciated and the hotel didn't need to go out their way to offer it but they did. 

After being too tired to venture out today, I ordered a takeaway from a local kebab shop, when the lady downstairs saw I had food she immediately offered me a plate and cutlery, again the staff here going above and beyond.

I really can't fault the hotel or staff and I will not hestitate too stay here when I travel up to bring my friend home to see his family again.

I'm here for two nights and I feel totally happy and at ease here. Being a single, female traveller I think being made to feel comfortable and safe is very important and this hotel has ticked every box for me. 

Thank you to everyone here, I've met so far. You've all made my little visit to my favourite northern city that little bit better.

Cute and cosy

Our first sightseeing trip to Liverpool. Staying at the Palatine Hotel. Very friendly and polite hosts. Rooms very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Pub on ground floor a great place to unwind at the end of the day with a couple of drinks. Pub also very clean. Good location close to city. Plenty of parking in the street. Free continental breakfast or will provide a cooked breakfast for small fee. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Liverpool getaway 

The hotel is located very conveniently for anyone who wants to get around Liverpool using buses and Merseyrail. There is a single room on the ground floor of the hotel. And the double rooms are upstairs. We got upgraded to a bigger room on arrival. The upper floors are accessible by stairs only. Free continental breakfast. The room I stayed in was ensuite and the hot water came in gushes but that was the only problem I had. The room was clean and the bed comfy. Quiet surroundings so you get a good nights sleep.

Good place to stay

We stayed here for one night on a busy Saturday night, we had some issues in regards to the booking, which was completely our fault and Theresa was more than accommodating with sorting the issue out and went out of her way to make us all feel welcomed and accomodated. The room was clean and spacious, and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast the next morning. Would highly recommend the palatine, everyone was so incredibly friendly and made such an impression on us. It was walking distance from a train station and only 12 minutes to get to the city centre via the train. Will definitely be returning!
