Extremely helpful staff, ensured my stay was comfortable. And has a restaurant next door for drinks and food. Will definitely stay again!

Incredible stay

We had a business meeting near Southend, so we chose this hotel because of the location. The hotel is quite reachable, just allow time for travelling on evenings and mornings. The hotel has a nice quiet location near a Tesco Extra supermarket. The rooms were clean and spacious, with the necessary amenities. Breakfast (in the next door Beefeater) was also the guaranteed Premier Inn quality.

Perfect for 1 night (or more)

Travelled a few hundred miles to see family, booked a family room. Was as expected, had everything we needed, beds comfortable, room comfortable. I didn’t go round taking pictures of rusty towel rails and such, as I’m not that sad. It was a bed for the night, value and was what I required. No issues.

As expected and required

Limited menu. Food was good and hot. Good sized portions. Good service from Clive. Such a friendly manner.
Attended with wheel chair user. Although the main restaurant was closed we were seen to table in a friendly manner.

Great room friendly staff.very clean good locstiom. Quiet hotel. Breakfast let it down. Cooked food not hot or very fresh. No staff to complain to all very busy. Very surprised as we had lunch there the day before and it was very good. 

Great stay

Good standard hotel from this chain . Plenty of free on site parking . All very clean . Aircon in room excellent. Staff made this place . Very friendly and helpful. Has on-site pub serving food next door. Beds comfortable. Disabled parking and lift to upper level.

Amazing staff

I like to do positive reviews not negative and will say that we were greeted in a truly friendly and cheerful manner on arrival. Really helpful receptionist.
Another very important positive to note is that despite 'airport' in the name and a very busy road it's on, we did not hear any aircraft or road noise in our room (just one aeroplane at about 9am so no problem at all).
The room was pleasant enough and had a couch to sit on. This was in front of an adjoining (locked) door and was very comfortable.
Unfortunately we only had one large towel for two of us, no extra/ choice of pillows, 2 tea bags (we don't drink tea otherwise wouldn't have been a problem) and 2 coffee sachets (which we saved until morning so didn't have one before bed).
There was no folder/ booklet with any information on, no phone in room to dial reception (altho this probably not a problem nowadays for most people) the only info was breakfast price and list, but unfortunately no times 
We were the very furthest from reception you can get & frankly too exhausted to walk right back through to ask for the missing items. When going to bed I could barely climb up on the bed (in fairness I am quite short and not as young as I once was!) as it was very high. I think this was because it was a family room and it was high to fit a truckle bed or similar under. The mattress was too firm for me (but we're all different & that's a personal choice of course) but every time we moved the sheet rumpled up on what seemed to be a thin cover over the mattress (which also caused a 'rim' a couple of inches from the edge of the bed) and even the duvet cover seemed too big & kept gathering! We straightened & made the bed 3 times, but it still didn't help. Eventually gave up & exhausted my husband fell off to sleep (but he would sleep on a clothes line in fairness!) I on the other hand hardly had any sleep.
On our way out in the morning I waited at reception to let them know but nobody came and so we left. I did call Premier Inn number the next day to let them know so they could feedback and spoke to a very nice chap who was very sympathetic and will ensure that the hotel look into why this happened 
I should mention also that the bath was also very high and I really struggled to get in and out for a shower, again this maybe a child safety reason but worth mentioning if like me you are nearly 69 and quite short!


Lovely friendly staff and quiet room

Clare and her team really made us feel welcome. Homely despite being a large corporate hotel. Very happy with the hotel and service.
Housekeeping team helpful too.
Quiet room and perfect undisturbed sleep.
Would be good to have a couple of USB sockets but enough plugs anyway.

Very hospitable and friendly trip

Horrible place to stay. First room smelt badly of damp. Reception changed room to one next door. Still smelt damp,  not so bad, but I was too tired and frustrated to walk all the way back to Reception

Frontage was full of cigarette ends and dead plants in urns. Probably killed by the nicotine from the cigarette ends. Staff smoking out front.

Room itself left a lot to be desired. Same as litter in corridors. Yep. Another cigarette end was there from Arrival to Departure two days later. 

On departure, spoke to Manageress about issues who seemed to be very blasé about it all.

On a plus note, I have stayed in many Premier Inns and found no complaints until this one. 

What Premier Inn could do with is a team of 'secret guests' because from what I have heard nothing changes.
