Second time staying at the wickford travel lodge and was again clean, quiet location and a lovely Toby carvery next door. All the staff we came across both times were really friendly and helpful 

Clean, quiet, and friendly stay

Was made excellent by the staff on duty, especially Kerry and Ben, who showed great helpfulness. You would enjoy your visit there.

Our Stay at Travelodge Basildon Wickford Hotel

The hotel is very easy to get to being right on the side of the A130, there's plenty of parking when you get there.

The room was clean and tidy and had a bigger TV than some of the other Travel Lodges.

The Reception staff was really friendly and was keen to help.

Lovely Travel Lodge Experience

Very comfortable bed and room was nice and clean.  Great service provided by Jo at reception - was extremely helpful following an error (my fault) I'd found with a future booking.    Toby restaurant next door is busy and OK, and I know that the carvery is their 'think' but if you're staying for a couple of nights or more like me, it would be nice if there had been a bit more menu choice IE not carvery.  You know something like gammon & eggs or scampi etc.    Anyway - Thanks Jo for all your help, and yes I do recommend this Basildon Wickford Travelodge, and I hope you like your full roast dinners!!

A very comfortable stay

We paid £72.99 for a one night stay while we were having work done at home.
I have rated this hotel as poor because things weren't as described when booking.
There was no shower gel in the dispenser in our bathroom, so consequently no shower for us!
The television didn't work properly, repeatedly displaying the message "no signal", along with the picture just breaking up.
There were cobwebs & dust bobbles on the walls.
The walls are very thin & unfortunately there were some very noisy guests staying in the hotel at the same time as us, which just made the whole stay even worse.
The hotel is generally tired looking & in need of a bit of care & attention. Our room certainly was not worth £72.99, probably only half that amount.

Not value for money - would never return!

A good nights sleep between airport and home, Toby carvery right next door, What else could you possibly need after a long flight.
Very helpful staff, A nice cozy room with unlimited tea or coffee.
Will definitely use again :)

Outstanding stay

Had a great stay at this Travelodge near Wickford Essex, tidy, comfortable,  very helpful staff, nothing to much for them.....a plus point had an eatery close by, would stay again.. Best travelodge I have stayed at..

Very well located Hotel with Eatery near by

This Travelodge should be closed for a full refurbishment.  The bathroom was not well maintained and smelled of raw sewerage. The whole hotel/rooms are dated and tatty. There were no glasses for water and no tray for the tea and coffee/mugs etc. The walls are paper thin so noise from rooms either side is a problem and you couldn't have the windows open due to the noise from the road.  There are weeds all around the hotel building and lots of rubbish in the grounds and car park.  The only redeeming feature was the pleasant, helpful staff.  

Avoid Travelodge Basidon, Wickford

When we arrived the receptionist was warm and welcoming, and went out of her way to make us comfortable, the room was clean and just what we needed,  there was plenty of parking, and there is a Toby right next door. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent staff

I have stayed in many  travelodges in Essex for long periods of time and this is by far the best one i haveever stayed in. The staff are amazing and will go beyond duty to help you. Kerry, the manager is lovely, very friendly  and helpful and her  staff are also the best ive come across. their  It's  a rare and pleasant experience  to recieve customer service at this level. Its really made my stays with them all the better and they've become Like friends. If you are looking for a travelodge, this one cannot be beaten and i highly recommend it. Gary Barnett
