Hotel built in July 2016. Quarter reserved for drug addicts who scream all night under your windows that don't close. Disgusting room with cockroach, dirty, shower curtains with old traces of either disgust or blood. Provision of sleeping dressed (dirty drape) with balls of silk and bandage on the eyes. No parking and impossible to leave the car for more than a few hours. Even in the most remote places of the Sahara, I have not found worse. Real bedroom for peppermint.

beware of danger

Arriving in San Francisco, I started looking for the hotel, not sure if it was the entrance to a bodega or the hotel.When I entered everything reflected too much abandonment and desase, I asked the manager to show me the room he had reserved after climbing the stairs up to the fourth floor (no elevator) and he showed me a very different room from the one shown on the Internet for photos.The room was bad, the old sheets and the area of terrible location.

FUGAAA!!!! As soon as we arrived we saw the entrance to the hotel which looked like it was in a supermarket and there was no parking space. On the other side of the road a group of drunk homeless people had gathered. Seeing the situation we immediately cancelled the booking we had made for two nights and they withheld the total price of one night plus taxes. If you make the mistake of booking in this hotel I advise you to do as we did and FUGAIRE!!!

Escape

This place was horrible. Our room smelled like curry food especially in the bathroom. There was no fitted sheet on the bed. The bathroom curtain was covered in mildew. The towels had wholes in the middle of them because they were so worn out. There was hardly any toilet paper on the roll and no extra roll in our room. I am not usually a high maintenance person but this place was so gross. I had to shower with my flip flops on. The bed wasn't comfortable either. I asked the man at the front desk to come and look at the room, which was literally 10 feet away from his desk and he said he couldn't. I wanted him to see how disgusting the room was and if that was how they clean all their rooms. There are homeless people everywhere outside and they stay up and make noise until about 6am. We were suppose to stay 3 nights but could only make ourselves stay 1, and that was only because we were too tired from travelling to find a new place that night. Ended up spending a little extra and staying a block from Fisherman's warf. So worth it!!

I stayed in 3 other cheaply priced places in San Francisco during my recent visit.  This was by far the best of the bunch - it was also the most expsnsive, but not by much.

The Tenderloin is not a great area, but this hotel is close to Market Street and the BART & MUNI metro, buses and streetcars.  There is a 24hour reception to buzz you in so security from the street is good.  Once inside yiu wil notice that the floor tiles look new and the paintwork has in fact been recently painted - nit a great paint job, but it has been done and so looks fresh and clean,  Have a look at other places and you would understand what I mean.

I found the desk staff very helpful - particularly as they allowed me to access my check-in document and print it - my own laptop having died earlier in the week.

Whilst I would have preferred more in the way of shower and restroom facilties, I never had to queue, and they were clean and tiled quite recently/  Again compared to where else I stayed, this place was a palace.

Would I stay here again?  Yes I would - I now know just how expensive rental property is in San Francisco ( 1 bedroom flat starting around $2,500 a month) so on that basis this is a fair value.

Again, for those giving a lower rating - San Franscisco is the most expensive city in the US - so everything then becomes relative.  For the amount being asked, this is good value.

Basic, but the owners have put in an effort here

This is probably the worst place I have ever stayed, it is in the most undesirable and unsafe area. For the price of the stay you would think you were staying somewhere fairly reasonable but sadly this was not the case! There were several shady characters standing outside of the door into the hotel blocking our way in and when inside we could hear screams from the street, needless to say we got no sleep here. I cannot even put into words how bad it was. But if you feel like risking your life go and stay here if not go as far away as possible!!

Do not stay here

Avoid this place.  The immediate surrounding area is pretty undesirable. The hotel itself is approached by going up a very steep set of stairs (no lifts available) to "reception" and then more stairs to the room. The toilet hadn't been flushed by the previous tenant let alone cleaned by the staff, the shower had hairs on the tiles and the bed linen appeared not to have been changed. Stayed one night (after a 13 hour flight) and immediately cancelled all other nights booked there.

Avoid at all costs

In order: 1. it is probably in the worst street in downtown SFO. If you don't mind its central location and almost everything, Eddy Street is a zone full of zombies, prostitutes, drug addicts and rotting. 2. the first floor is made up of a giant staircase that leads to the reception (second floor). next to the staircase is the garbage of the entire hotel. It is tons of garbage. That generates an extremely disgusting smell throughout the building. Of course, if the garbage is there! 3. from the second floor is the reception and the rooms. there is no elevator. The floor is dirty and the environment is very unpleasant. the crypt case. 4. the attention is terrible. The staff understands little and English. 5. The finest rooms in Eldoret.

It's impossible to find something worse.

The hotel's location is in the most dangerous part of San Francisco, so I can only advise you to go there.

Don't go there! It's very dangerous!!!

San Francisco is a charismatic city. I went on a journey that is more expensive than New York. And I realized I was looking for accommodation for the hotel values... but I went to the Royal Inn via reservation, to stay a night alone. The location is not bad, as you are very close to Union Square, but just those squares are half ugly... not if you call them dangerous things because nothing happens to me, but it seems. The first staircase was a ordeal, but getting to the first floor was impossible when I found my room was on the fourth floor. Everything by staircase and with two bags. the room was a real mess, I was in all kinds of accommodations but I never saw anything.... the open floor without the closing, the floors, the smell of humidity... so it was impossible to get to the first floor, so I could never avoid a few worse places, but the budget could never really come by, and I could never really get to a better place.
