Eco Lodge in the Caucasus Wildlife Refuge Hotel 

It’s hard to describe the stay in a short review! We stayed one night in one of the camping pods, which was well kitted out, very clean and comfortable with a bathroom unit too. The reserve was stunning and peaceful- such a change after the city. We had breakfast and dinner, prepared by Ms. Alice, which were totally delicious and very reasonably priced- all local, fresh dishes. It was really interesting to see the work the reserve are doing on site and everyone there was super friendly. We felt like we had real freedom on site, we went on a long hike into the mountains. There are also some dogs that live on site that were amazing and friendly, and once we engaged with them they hung out with us on site, always primed for belly rubs and happily running through the mountains. We didn’t really know what to expect and when visiting again would definitely book more of the guided activities as the area you stay in is a tiny tiny part of the whole reserve! It would be amazing to see more of it with a guide. We did a short horse ride which was really beautiful. The sunset and starry night were beautiful too. We were the only people staying there so had a beautiful peaceful evening. We also got transfers via the reserve which were great and very reasonably priced and Diana at the office made it all really easy to arrange- (thank you!) we also saw some amazing wildlife- goats, eagles and a wild bearded vulture (they also have rescued ones on site) that schollo the biggest dog alerted us to whilst out on a walk!
