Buxbaum Beletage Design & Boutique Hotel 

The Buxbaum is so outstanding that, if I return to Vienna, I would schedule the trip to ensure I could visit when there is availability to stay here. When we arrived three hours before checkin we were offered complementary coffee, and the cappuccinos (made with proper espresso machine) rivaled that of the best coffee shops. Before we could finish the coffees our rooms were ready. There was no up-charge for early checkin, or anything else during our stay, including a parting cappuccino to go an hour after checkout before breakfast closed. So, not only is the hotel a good value, you feel like you're getting more than you're paying for. The staff treated us better than we would expect had we been spending ten times as much for a room. The room itself was spacious, beautiful, and had a desk that was more than comfortable enough for the occasional work email. The air conditioning kept up with the 95f heatwave in Vienna. The location is a half block from the busiest street in Vienna. There are double windows (not two panes, but two layers of windows) and so we didn't hear a sound. While our plan had been to try a different viennese bakery each morning, the hotel breakfast (included) was extraordinary and had enough options to make each of our four mornings a little different. The tiny imperfections were: - The cinema room for watching movies did not support Netflix or projecting from Samsung (Android) phones. This is more a fault of Google's Android ecosystem and Netflix's DRM policies than the hotel, but good to know for your expectations if planning to use that room. - The snack from 2-4 may disappoint if your expectations are set by the amazing breakfast. If you don't eat meat, there's not much to put on the bread. - They don't (currently) have access to a great laundry service option for guest laundry, so don't arrive expecting to do laundry here. What makes this unfortunate is that this is the kind of hotel you'll want to spend many days at.
