Outstanding five day stay on this paradise island in the best possible of accommodation choices. Charles, Mark and Matteus have created a stunning Pousada with comfortable rooms, amazing (absolutely amazing) food and the friendliest of welcomes and hosting. Brilliant at keeping in touch during the booking process, and relaxed and informative when you are there this is a top hosting team and they add to the paradise of this setting. The island is a wildlife and beach paradise and you can do very little or lots from the activities and walks on offer. The round island boat tour is an absolute must. We hope to return and visit again - and can not recommend it highly enough.

Beyond perfect

Charles felt like an old friend from the moment we met him. I loved the cheery décor. The dinners were quite delicious. Charles has thought of everything to make his guests comfortable, well nourished, and relaxed! He was very helpful with everything from helping us plan our days to sharing with us a bit about his long history on the island. He has had lots of time to assemble a wonderful staff that takes excellent care of the guests. I can add that everything is immaculate. They even brought me herb tea the day I felt sick.

Idyllic island retreat with a wonderful restaurant and host!

Agree with all the very positive reviews and not much more to add...wonderful place, charming helpful staff, delightful tropical setting and absolutely delicious food. Thanks to Charles and the rest of the staff for ensuring we had such a memorable stay.

It's all true - just go if you...are even thinking about it.

We had a fabulous stay at Santa Clara on our honeymoon. Charles was incredibly helpful in booking and advising on transport options to/from Boipeba, and was always happy to give tips and answer questions about things to do on the island. The rooms/chalets were spotless and very spacious, set in gorgeous gardens just back from the beach. The breakfasts were excellent, and in the evenings the restaurant serves superb food. The menu changes daily, and it's easily the best restaurant around. 

I can't recommend this place enough, and Charles will be sure to make your stay as stress-free and enjoyable as possible.

Fantastic pousada and excellent restaurant

Pousada Santa Clara has been a terrific stay over the past 3 days. The accomodation is very clean and everyone who works here is very friendly. They have a very good system in place that gives you a range of activities to do in the morning and afternoon, Tony my guide was very good on all the trips and gave us a good insight into life in the pantanal, the food provided is of a very good standard and you do not go hungry. Water is free on sight so you do not need to worry about bringing lots of water with you. The setting is beautiful and I can only imagine even more so in wet season. When you are doing the boat tour, once the sun goes down look up at the stars you will not be disappointed some of the best I have seen. The resort is great for chilling in as well in between activities with a pool, hammocks and a range of games that you can play. Highly recommend staying here for your pantanal stay! For the night boat do take stuff to put on and cover up from the masses of mosquitoes!
