Pousada Água Viva 

My boyfriend and I went to Paraty for about 4 days and booked this pousada online. We wanted to to be close to the city center and to the bus station and this place is both! We arrived much earlier than the check in time and they made their best to give us a room as soon as they could. We appreciated that immensely... The pousada is really clean, it smells cleaning producets and it is a lovely smell. It is an old building so it has all the features of a colonial building. Our room (the blue room) was on the ground floor overlooking a small garden: we could open the window (which was in fact also a door) and look at some beautiful exotic flowers. I would in fact recommend a room on the ground floor if you prefer this type of view: from the top floor they see the city but not the sea anyway. They changed our towels and even the bath mat every day and every day they gave us new soap bars. On our last day, they even changed our bed sheets: I think they change them every other day (which I find totally acceptable). Honestly the room was impeccable every single day. Breakfast was absolutely amazing as well: this room has a table in front of the window so we were having breakfast with the window open, looking at the flowers. Although it is a buffet breakfast, like most of the pousadas, believe it is a lot of food. We are good eaters and we were more than satisfied! Finally, the staff is extremely friendly, very helpful and always willing to give us some tips. I would recommend this pousada to anybody because we had a fantastic stay. Nearby there are a lot of shops, restaurants and bars (we recommend Gamboa - the road gets incredibly busy when they play live music). We didn't have any problem with the noise: Paraty is a city to live at night as well!
