Stayed 3 nights in renovated room for hunting trip.  Checked mattresses & they were in full mattress bags which impressed me. Everything was neat & clean. Impressed that had utensils, plates & cooking utensils for use.  Owner was very friendly & accommodating.  When we inquired about when the cold breakfast was available he said in the winter it's open at 7am, which was an hour later than I thought, but he said for us he would open earlier.  Would definitely stay there again for our next hunt!

Would stay in renovated rooms again

I stay here at least 1 to 2 times a year and just love how clean the rooms are and how well I'm taken care of. There is a breakfast area by the front desk with breakfast goodies, juice and coffee. Considering the price to stay there and how clean the rooms are (even have a fridge, coffee maker and microwave!) this is one of the best values for your dollar

My Dad and I stayed one night and we were impressed by how clean and tidy the room was. 

It had a fridge, microwave and coffee machine. The beds were reasonable comfortable and all in all was good value for money. 

It is not a luxury hotel but had everything we could want in a exceptionally clean package. 

In the end, what more do you need!!!

Hunting Trip 

We needed a room for a night so we stopped and the manager showed us the older rooms and the brand new rooms (4 of them).  the room was small but was very bright and had a fridge, microwave, stove burner and a few plates, pans etc if you wanted to make a little something.  The wifi worked really well.  The breakfast was only toast, cereal or yogurt.  The manager was super friendly and helpful.  Without asking he brought over a table and chairs so we could sit outside and enjoy our happy hour.  The family/friends played cricket, it was fun to watch.

It is your basic no frills off the beaten track motel, but is it ever quiet. Had the best nights sleep in a long time. 
If I had any complaint it was that the internet would not connect, but we managed to live a night without it. Just like in the olden days.

A good nights sleep

The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable, be prepared there is no phone and no clock in the room.  We also did not have a coffee maker in the room, went to the office at 7 a.m. and door was still locked so no continental breakfast for us...  I guess we could have rang the bell and woke them up but we did not.  

Good for a little town

The place is drab on the outside (motel style) and in a desolate part just outside of town; while the room was old, it was clean and sufficient. The hosts were pleasant. "Breakfast" is cold items like boxed orange juice, a small yogurt, bread, and cereal. 

Basic but functional 

Your options are quite limited when visiting Gravelbourg. 

This is a clean motel (sheets and bathroom wise). Towels stunk like mildew dry as well as wet. There were several boot prints on the walls of the bathroom that nobody cleaned off. Rooms very dark and dingy 

The motel desperately needs to be renovated. Extremely old and out dated. The carpet in our room was disgusting with stains everywhere. Looked vacuumed but gross to see. Bathroom is tiny. If we hadn't had so much to do in Gravelbourg during our visit, we would have stayed the 40 minutes away at the Canalta hotel in Assiniboia. If this place were to be fixed up (ie: fresh paint, new furniture, new carpet) I would consider staying next time I visit. 

We found the beds quite comfortable. WI-FI worked great for our needs!
