We have now been driving for several hours along the water and the views are, to use a cliché, “to die for”. My partner's flu is getting worse and I feel like condemned: it's bound to hit me any moment now. We decide to stop for the night and get lucky with the first place we attempt: Villa Vera proves to be everything we want: self sufficient, adjacent to a long walk along the sea and with gorgeous views, quiet, clean and it only costs €70 all included. Wifi works great. As a fringe benefit, the nearby town is called Novi Vinograd which brings dreams of new wine (we actually try some that evening at dinner, Lucas, separate review). Croatians quote all prices in Euro, however their official currency is the Kuna and they are required to take it, but many places refuse: go figure!
