Hotel Jimmy

We ended a cycle trip in Hradek nad Nisou, and stayed overnight. I have to say that Hradek is not very touristic, but you can see it is a town whose residents care about their surroundings. So - not so much to see, but pleasant to wander around. There were 3 take-away pizzerias (not so interesting) but do try the Brzenak beer at the cafe - it is locally produced and I like it. It has good rail and bus connections, although it was a little strange to find the railway station at the top of the hill... The hotel is a corner pub and seemed to be a centre for locals. We were there on a Tuesday, so not too busy (or noisy). There is a range of Asian food in the bar, presumably cooked by Asian staff who were wandering around. The bar/reception was staffed by the happiest lady you could wish for (to my shame I have forgotten her name). We ate at the Camelot restaurant. One negative; we arrived in the first cold snap after a glorious summer, and the room was Bloody Freezing at night. Definitely a struggle to get out of my duvet in the morning. Overall, a good experience of Czech village hospitality.
