I went with my husband to “Arasha” for the weekend and the best choice we made. This the right choice if you went to relax in nature, eat tasty food and listen to nature mother. The pools, the rooms, the restaurant, and the stuff just exceeded our expectations. Definitely we will want to come there again 💚🌴

First time in Arasha Tropical Rainforest Resort & Spa.
Really good option to rest.  Its facilities are very cozy.

We (nine of us) stayed one night and had meals included (dinner, breakfast, lunch).  The food was excellent but you might consider not using this option since there was a lot of food (3 courses and drink).  Our stay also included a night tour of the rain forest and a demonstration of how chocolate is made (from the bean to the finished product - can't get fresher than that).
We had four rooms.  Each contained tables and chairs on the outside porch which was great for talking and a place for removing our wet boots (we went in early January which tends to have a lot of rain).  Our room had a double bed and a twin for our daughter.  The fixtures/bathroom are dated and definitely could do with an upgrade.
The staff were very friendly. The person who served us at meals was excellent and paid much attention to our needs.  The tour guide, who did the night tour and the chocolate demo, was great.  We did not interact with other staff much at all except for check in and out.  
There is a pool and spa overlooked by the veranda area of the restaurant.  The flooring on the pool was too slick for my liking and I almost slipped a couple of times.  There is also a day spa which we did not use.
We spent our time in the pool or taking walks.  It rained quite a bit and the hotel provided umbrellas were appreciated.  Of course with it being so warm, the rain (drizzle) was not as unpleasant.
I'd agree with other reviews that the resort is dated and perhaps slightly overpriced.  But it was a good place to meet with other family out of Quito and enjoy some outdoors.

This area in Ecuador (Mindo) is beautiful. There are plenty of boutique hotels and resorts. Arasha is one of the oldest and largest. It appears that they were the pioneer establishment in the area. They earned several prizes in the past but not any more. Even though they have the most impressive land and nature, unfortunately the facility is way below expectations. Especially for the very top premium prices that they practice. We stayed in a "suite" as they call it. It was not a suite because it only had a king bed and nothing else. A suite would normally have a seating section and furniture. We did not understand how our suite was any different than their standard rooms. All bungalows look almost exactly the same from outside. The room had many problems of maintenance and furnishings. Everything in the room was quite aged and old. They need immediate replacement. The bed, TV (still CRT TV at this age??), fridge (makes lots of noise yet there is nothing in it!!), all furnishings, electricity fixtures (buttons don't work), the whole bathroom need to be completely renewed. As is this is a 2-star cheap establishment. 300$ per night is way too high for this.The restaurant  is unfortunately one of the worst we ever experienced in Ecuador. Our arrangement was a full-board one and we had a chance to experience all 3 meals. The lunch and dinner menu is exactly the same, like a military camp. There are very few options and the dishes we tried were not up to 5-star standards at all.  Finally, this is not a "resort" at all as advertised. Because the owner apparently decided to change the establishment from being a resort to an "urbanization". There are dozens of private villas within the establishment. Some of them are still under construction and trucks and workers are continuously around! They claim that ths establishment is a "reserva" yet I believe constructions would not be possible in a reserva! If you establish 5-star expectations, it is guaranteed that you will be frustrated. Be careful!

Be careful: advertised as a 5-star resort but in reality a 2-star place

Perhaps many years ago this resort was a splendid retreat. Today, however, it is run down and lacking many of the amenities of similar so called resorts. The rooms are acceptable for an eco lodge, though no air conditioning or tv and very noisy fans. The food is good and the service as well. But the cost is far too high. We paid $27 each for the buffet lunch and dinner after being told ordering off the menu was not possible. However, when we saw one family ordering off the menu we inquired as to why they received special treatment. The waiter informed us that they were the owners. It seems clients come second to the owner. 

The pool is nice, though it smells of chemicals and it is small. The spa, considering this is a resort, could be more tranquil. My massage was very good, but some upgrades such as candles, scented oils, warm showers, would be nice. 

The resort has potential to be a worthwhile 2.5 hour drive from Quito. But in my opinion, the high cost is not reasonable for the quality of the place. 

Outdated and overpriced hotel

This place HAD great reputation, unfortunately seems like time has taken a toll on this facility, everything looks dated, in the rooms the smell  it's not pleasant at all!! even though they were fairly clean!
Food is good, and the waiting staff are very nice, however I feel we paid too much money for what the place is worth 
Wouldn't return to it or recommend it!
The front desk people, argued with us about a small charge on food, after we were told it was all included, good customer service should say: CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT, but... they didn't
