it was wonderfull time in this small hostel, there is warm common area, small kitchen and free tea and coffee, room was little dark but it's ok , internet was working well during the time, it's 20 min far away from main bus station with by walking.hostel owner is very helpfully and friendly I liked alot and see you next time,

It's an amazing place, with great atmosphere and everyone has been really kind and helpful.

This is the perfect little hostel for a stay in Skopje. I'd highly recommend staying here for several reasons.

- Dragon is the best host i've ever met. He's interesting, welcoming and is always around. I don't know how he keeps going all day. He gets to know his guests - yes, guests. He treats everyone as guests and gets to know them by their first names. 

- The hostel is setup for a comfortable and homely stay. There is a cosy lounge in which people congregate and socialise. There is also a covered outdoor area and a balcony. 

- The kitchen has all of the necessary facilities. Dragon keeps this clean throughout the day, so it feels like home. 

- The bathroom, whilst not necessary very modern, is spacious, clean and what you'd expect. There is a coat hook to hang multiple items, which is super basic but many hostels forget this.

- Large lockers in the room to store stuff. 

- Information booklets and maps are plenty.

- A lovely golden retriever dog who roams around and keeps himself to himself, but loves a good head scratch.

- Super fast wifi.

- Near to the start of the Mount Vodno hike.

- Each bunk bed has a light and electric plug. 

- It felt safe and was in a nice neighbourhood.

Cons

- It's a bit of a walk from town.

- You can't sit up in the lower level bunk bed. 

- Perhaps one or two odd people here, but nothing you can do about that unless Dragon says no to them - I think he'll know what I mean if he reads this (12th June 2022 French guy from Sofia with a pretend brother...)

I'd definitely stay here again.

Great experience and highly recommend Hi Skopje. The host is amazing loves his city and always ready to help, for advise or a chat. Simply loved my stay. Ended up extending my stay because Skopje was amazing. There is a bit to do in town and a few really interesting day trips. The hostle was very clean and comfortable. Good wifi, excellent info on local tourist sites.

I have been traveling in Balkans for last 8 months in Sarajevo, and  Belgrade area.
My last 2 months have been in Macedonia which has been the best for the raw beauty and culture. The landscape, 
gastronomy and warmth hospitality is amazing here in Macedonia. The first month's highlight was a personal WINE tour by local Dragan (from HI Hostel owned by Marina) to the Tikves Region.
In Skopje I had some bites from local restaurants and street food recommended by Marina and Victor's friends
The 2nd month has topped the first month in Mavrovo at Vertical Hostel and the surrounding villages where the traditions from 800-1000 years are still alive.
Accompanied by Marina and Victor and their close friends we experienced.a Traditional Macedonian Wedding in Galicnik Village with spiritual Trance like celebrations on DRUMS to 4 am for a 3 day weekend.
The gastronomy in the region is amazing, comparable to my travels and stay in France Spain and Italy in last 15 yrs.I had the honour of feasting some regional meats from Farm to table in local restaurants in Mavrovo.and surrounding areas who are close friends of Marina and Victor. Some of the restaurant Traditions are from 50-100 yrs. I have sent some pictures to share the memories with other travelers.

This is absolutely a place to return to.  Marina and Viktor were truly amazing, kind hosts and incredibly helpful. Located in a more quiet and green, residential area, you will experience genuine hospitality that makes you feel at home. We greatly appreciate our stay at Hi Skopje, thank you very much 🙏💚

This is the best hostel,if you want to stay there like you are like at home.Cika Dragan and teta Branka best houst in the hostel,he looks all young people like father.Thank you for everything, i love you, veliki poljubac za vas.

Best hostel, big garden, good food, Nice owner and great guests. Went there with a friend in May. Had a very good time. Visit the city and matka canyon and enjoy the good times and vibes at the great hostel

A friendly, relaxed and clean environment. I enjoyed it very much while staying. There's no question mark on your mind. A lot of help on issues such as directions. It is also a pleasant place with its proximity to the center and clean air. I would recommend it to everyone.

Clean and cozy place with amazing homemade breakfast (pies, traditional burek...). Do not be suprised to see some homemade cakes waiting for you in the kitchen!

Hosts were very helpful like only Macedonians can be. 

They helped us organize trips to Ohrid, Kruševo and Matka.

We had a great time!
