Hôtel La Voile

Really nice modern hotel within 5 mins walk of the beach and good restaurants. There are shops just around the corner if you need to buy provisions for the beach, small casino supermarket, 2 shops selling pastries and bread, one shop selling rotisserie chicken. Everything is very handy although the hotel is sort of on a back residential street. Our room, 28, had a small balcony with patio table and chairs, separate toilet to the shower and sink, the shower has a normal shower as well as rain and the water pressure was very good. Hairdryer very good. Air conditioning was very good. Bed was firm but comfy, to be fair my husband and I both suffer bad backs so everything is firm to us! If being very fussy it would have been nicer if the floor was a hard floor and not carpet, would imagine in time the carpet could look stained and have people complaining. Room was clean and by the time we had breakfast the room had been done, Complimentary shampoo and soap in the bathroom, no tissues. We found it extremely quiet but I think when we were staying there must have been only another 2 or 3 couples here and we were on the top floor. They have a bar and they also have breakfast served until 10.30am for €9.50 with all of the usual things. There is a lovely swimming pool area where you could easily spend the day. There is limited parking on the road outside which looks to be free but they also have an underground parking garage with limited spaces, €10 per day. We booked this for our car as hubby has bought himself a nice retirement present and wanted to keep the baby safe!! Because we were here early season we had it all to ourselves. The garage is accessed from reception, if you are coming from the garage you need your room key to access the hotel, the garage door is shut at night. You will also need a code number to get back into the hotel if you are out after 9pm. There is construction going on next door at the moment for either a hotel or apartments and I would imagine that that will be going on for at least another year (now june 2019). They seemed to start work around 6.30, not on weekends, so I would make sure you ask for a room away from this if you are a light sleeper. Our room was on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator. There is also a safe in the room but maybe this is extra price as need a separate key for it. The girl at reception spoke excellent English and was very helpful. Would highly recommend Cote Palmer restaurant for meal, they do very thin base pizza which are excellent and also BBQ steak, chicken or Gambas which are also very nice. For fish at lunchtime would go to Plage Du Beau Rivage, wonderful meal.
