Le Vétiné

It has been our first stay in the Vosges for skiing. The hotel is located close to Gerardmer and the Bresse. It is a nice hotel with a limited parking (we had to park outside but that was not an issue) that is located in a very small skiing station that now it seems permanently closed. There is nothing else in the surroundings, apart the hotel, but this is also part of the "charme" of this hotel and we knew in advance. The family that is in charge of the hotel is absolutely nice, as well as all the staff, being the main reason for our 5*. The quality of the restaurant is excellent but you have to adapt for the daily menu for the dinner (with no option for the starter, the main dish and the dessert, and just a basic children menu). It would be nice to have the possibility to dinner just an omelette, an hamburger or a salad, anything complicated for the kitchen, and more "light" for who do not want a heavy dinner. The breakfast was ok, not a lot of choice but correct, and once again, the family & the staff make the difference. We rented the skiing equipment in the hotel and they advised us to go to Gerardmer station instead of the Bresse and we appreciated it and we enjoyed a lot. The family room we occupied was ok but a little outdated. Noises as usual in this type of hotels. Not an issue for us. Hope we will have the opportunity to return again to this nice family hotel for another w.e. in the Vosges.
