L'hermitage

We stayed here either side of a week's holiday rental, necessary because Ryanair only fly in and out of Beziers on a Friday/Sunday. L'Hermitage was lovely once we'd found it - not sure how we managed to drive around Montredon at least three times before the owner guided us in via the mobile, but we did! This charming B & B is like stepping back into a 1950s French film but with modern plumbing and comfortable beds. The owners are friendly and helpful and there was even a beautiful cat in attendance. Breakfast is a fairly simple, but again very French, affair. There is a swimming pool in the back garden but we didn't really have time, or the weather, to enjoy this. There is a comfortable lounge with a modern t.v. downstairs. The wifi worked well, despite thick stone walls. We were able to park directly outside the property but were advised to move our vehicle up the hill during our second overnighter as a vide grenier was taking place on the Sunday morning. For those who don't know - and I wasn't totally sure beforehand - a vide grenier seems to be where the locals sell their bric a brac, probably to one another. We would thoroughly recommend L'Hermitage and not just for overnight stays. Oh, and we had a lovely three course home cooked meal on our first night, which was terrrific value at 23 euros per head including wine. Perfect.
