Camping Capfun Chateau d'Arvid

We have been there for some days in September and liked it very much. It's a nice camping site and a good starting point for sightseeing. Honfleur and Deauville are only 10 minutes away by car. The mobile home was great and clean but without a parking lot. The water slides are fun, the outdoor pool could be bigger. The pool inside the house is big nevertheless. 
The staff was great.  Funny, helpful and capable of speaking English. The director can speak English, French and German. So there is a big chance that someone can help you in cases of problems. 

Unusually for us, we booked 5 nights without reading the Trip Advisor reviews, so after doing so were some what worried about what we going to find when we arrived. Happily we can say that we were pleasantly surprised.
The standard 6 berth caravan that we booked was new, clean and spacious. Well equipped and in a decent sized,quiet plot.
The communal facilities were are well kept and not over crowded.
The site was well positioned, a couple of Kilometres from the nearest beach and within 10 minutes drive of both Deauville and Honfleur.
The on-site restaurant offers well priced food and drinks and bread and pastries in the mornings.

It is expected that you leave your accommodation as you have found it or could be subject to cleaning charges. 

Overall, good value, great position, clean and tidy. Would not hesitate to book a return visit.

Lovely location near ferries, and a short drive to honfleur and deauville and coastline
We arrived with 2 infants after the office had closed and, after eventually finding the manager,had an hour of argument about whether we had a reservation - despite the online booking confirmation we had printed out. 
Eventually we were allowed in and directed to our caravans - without any sheets etc till the following morning.
Pool looks great but the baby pool is colder than the main pool and the tiny changing area was not cleaned or the open bin emptied throughout our stay. (including the dirty nappies we'd put in it)
As we checked out they tried to charge us €100 to clean 2 caravans - which then took us only 10 mins - to sweep the floors.
Overall pretty location - but make sure you get a copy of the rules and stick to them, and avoid the staff if you can!

Terrible staff and poor cleanliness of (otherwise lovely) pool

My family and I were supposed to go there in August. We paid extra for cancellation insurance just in case. A month before the date, my father-in-law had to cancel due to bypass surgery. However, it took us nearly 3 months of battling to get our money back, even though we had provided proof from the hospital. How can a French company, which is in Europe, take two months to send the reimbursement?

POOR SERVICE ! Lengthy Refund Process Despite Cancellation Insurance

The worst of the Capfun locations.

We’ve enjoyed over a dozen capfun camp grounds throughout France. This one is the worst and their website is almost exclusively false advertising. The experience borders on fraud.

Wifi advertised, but never works; even their paid wifi is useless.
Mobile connection is as minimal as it gets and doesn’t work in most places.

Épicerie is advertised but doesn’t exist in reality.

Check in exceeded 2 hours, upon waiting that long in a queue, we’ve been told the cabin is not ready and we’ll be called in a few hours!!

We’re now 4 hours into the nightmare and no progress. We’re simply going to demand a refund. If they refuse, we’ll dispute the charges, but this location is a complete failure and we’re leaving.

Worst of the Capfuns

Bad place to stay, All dirty, bad service, very tiny accomodations and places, terrible place they call a restaurant, outdated pool, fragmented playgrounds, bad garbage management, unfriendly staff and management, low quality accomodations and inventory, only grid trails, no normal driving/walking hardly lighted lanes, it was just one dirty campside which does no way earn a 4 star rating.

We called into this camp site with the motor home on Thurs night on the way to Hon Fleur
We were attracted by the four star rating
Little did we know !!!!!
Firstly the staff were sullen and could not speak hardly and English at reception. Not a good advert.
The pitches were tired the hedges untrimmed the water taps looked as though they had seen much better days.
The Site facilities were disgusting. One block was shut and derelict
The other Unisex (fine no problem with that BUT)
the toilets had no seats. There was no toilet paper provided.
The showers were disgusting. Luke warm water and the shower tap did not stay on at all. We had to continually press the tap.
There were no wash hand basins in the block.

Facilities!!!!    the bar and cafe was closed ALL September.
We had to give a 40 Euro deposit for the gate key and so it went on and on.
Definitely will not be returning, (I doubt if they would care anyway) 
FOUR STAR  get a life
I might have not been so critical IF it had been without any stars at all.
If they want to see a four star campsite they should visit 
Les Hallerois at Tarden near Dinan
Now thats a site and a half and you could eat off the shower block floors.... Superb
