The staff and owners where extremely friendly, and did everything they could to make our stay plesant.  The food was perfect, for a great price.  When we come back to this region, we surely will come here again.

very good charming Hotel

I ate there after a beautiful day in Cochem and they ruined our trip! Bad.. more than bad quality of food. My girlfriend paid 15.90€ for a small burger with FROZEN VEGETABLES (that she left all there). I order a schnitzel and i get chicken breast..with old pommes. NEVER AGAIN THERE. They rouined our trip. If you are german restaurant and you don't have fresh german food what shall i order then? Places like that shouldn't have open! Still angry for this waste of money and making bad end of the day.

Bad!

I saw on the wall of the restaurant that this was highly rated on Trip Adviser which caused me a lot of concern. 
If you want to stay where the rooms look like a prison cell, the towels are stiff and scratchy, there is absolutely no service, the breakfast is abysmal then you are welcome to it. If you have such low standards then this is the place for you. It is not a budget hotel either as they charge over £100 a night

One of the worst places to stay

Beilstein on the Mosel is a tiny town with a charming atmosphere. The hotel Haus Burg Metternich and restaurant are right across from the river, with vineyards running behind. Parking (free and paid) is available just down the street from the hotel. The building is historic, with an old tower and winding stairs and hallways, and murals and old photographs showing earlier times there. Our room was clean, cozy, and pretty comfortable, and WiFi worked well enough. (The towels were thin and rather rough, though, as they seem to be air drying them.) The staff were friendly and helpful, and very personable, as one would expect of a small, family-run establishment. We spent much of the afternoon enjoying drinks and relaxing in the dining room of the restaurant, with its beautiful river views. If it hadn't been raining, we would have been on the grapevine-covered terrace outdoors, which was just lovely. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent (steak with herb butter, and fresh local brook trout, each meal including salad from a fresh and tasty salad bar), and the local wines came highly recommended. Prices (for the room and the drinks/meal) were reasonable, but be aware that they only accept cash and EU debit cards, no credit cards, for payment. We were pleased with our one-night stay here, and would recommend the hotel and especially the restaurant.

Charming family-run hotel in a great location

Stayed 4 nights with friends. The hotel has a fabulous location alongside the Moselle river in Beilstein, one of the prettiest villages along this stretch of the water. The terraces in particular were pretty with overhanging vines making for a beautiful ambience in which to dine or drink. Rooms are very clean if a little basic, not exactly luxurious but nonetheless quite comfortable.  Bathroom was a bit small, towels had seen better days. Staff were very hospitable, food of a good standard and very reasonably priced. In common with most other local hotels there is no reserved parking but 24 hr free parking is available within 150m of the hotel. Free overnight parking is located within 50m but even in September spaces were at something of a premium.  Overall very good value, would certainly consider staying there again. 

Decent hotel, beautiful location

We stayed 2 nights at this very lovely family run hotel. The brother and sister who own the hotel are delightful and helpful. We'd bought some wine from the local vineyards and they kindly suggested storing it in their cellar rather than leaving it in the car as the weather was exceptionally hot. Good breakfasts and lovely outdoor areas. Rooms spacious and comfortable, would return for sure. Ate in the Quel Gut in the square which was fabulous.
