Excellent
Location is prime, we come here for the last 7 years, and we like it. Tel aviv is pricey, this hotel is no exception to the rule. There are many other hotels with different location, but if you want to be near the beach, in a modern hotel with good rooms and a nice view this place for the price asked if unbeatable. Our check in experience was nice, our rooms preference was acknowledged, we were set on the 9th floor in one of their renovated rooms, south facing, the view we prefer. The hotel has adirect access by lift to the beach, all lifts will take you there. The hotel has as well a 25m long pool, with an opening roof (open during the summer and turning it indoor during winters, awesome !) and a small jaccuzzi in the same space. There is a spa and sauna area, close to the small but well equipped gym. Tel aviv beach is no differnt to Venice beach in LA, and there qre plenty of outdoor gyms along the promenade, on which you can run for miles as well. No need of a larger gym in the hotel in all honesty. Our room was modern, equipped with a Illy espresso machine, a large closet and side board where to store the cloths of 3 people, the opening sofa was turned into a bed for our son, but we found out it was partly broken, so we used it closed, Note to mgmt; in room 905 the sofa bed needs to be repaired The lounge times werent lear, while the receptionist told us it will open at 11am onlythey do serve breakfast in the morning, but only from 10 am, A pity we have to wait till 10 am to enjoy some coffee and breakfast, an easy improvement to the service is to set it at 7am, lounge access rooms shouldnt have to pay for breakfast in addition, to get it at 7 or 8 AM. The lounge is adult only, which is nice and serves a reasonnably good aray of food in the morning and larger choice in the evening, from hummus to fish and cakes, with a wide access to alcohols, wine red and white (Israeli wines are excellent!) and stronger spirits. Its location on the floor right above the promenade with a wide balcony over the beach is prime, you are both in the middle of the buzz but not inside it, the lounge is self service, but we love to seat there for sun downers. Rooms are rather soundproof, the cleaning was good, and each room has a small balcony with a table and 1 chair (perhaps 2 chairs would make more sense management ?), but the main windows need a cleaning between guests when dirty. The room maintenance is not their strong point, a pity, easy to fix many small issues before they become a bigger issue for guest and costly to fix, like the sofa bed broken in our executive room. All in all, an excellent beach side hotels, we can only recommend to book a refurbished room on 1 of the executive floors and inform management of any maintenance problem you witness in your room. The hotel has a limited number of parking spaces, handled by their security team, worth every penny, but it is a 1st come 1st served, and on the day of our arrival it was fully booked till guests started departing. Anyway, if you plan to be in Tel Aviv only, dont rent a car, it would be a big mistake, use taxis, they are cheap, or the new metro train, or walk in this unesco listed Bauhaus city. It is a walkable city from the hotel location. Herts office and the rental agencies are across the hotel if you need a car. Another faultless stay for us, and one more a big thank you to Mr Ivo Jacome, who keeps on amazing us with his mastering of at least 4 foreign languages; and help guests with any demand. Except him, service in general can be improved, but room maintenance must be improved. A great hotel if you look to be on the beach itself, with a pool, and great views, the executive rooms are super nice and have wonderful views. This hotel is a great 4 stars, closet to 4.5 stars, but has the facilities of a 5 stars. If the price is right and cheaper than the Renaissance or the Hilton, it is worth staying here.
