Appartamento Galliera 

Federico was right on time to meet us and very pleasant. He offered several restaurant recommendations (all of which were absolutely excellent, and I would especially recommend Osteria del Cappello- order the chicken you won’t be sorry) and gave us a map with key areas marked. He also speaks excellent English. The apartment was located conveniently between the train station and Piazza Maggiore—Bologna is very walkable. The apartment itself is, as I said, quintessentially Italian and quite charming. Simple, and very clean. There are even some DVDs and a DVD player if you feel so inclined. The bed was adequate, 2 twins in a frame as is typical of Italy and Europe in general. Of course quintessentially Italian does also mean a rather tiny shower and a washing machine but no dryer, but if that’s really something you care that much about on vacation… Italy just might not be for you. My 6’ 3” boyfriend was able to make the shower work for him so I can’t imagine it would be much of a problem for anyone else. My only complaint would be that the walls were quite thin and you could sometimes hear the neighbors, but everyone was respectfully quiet late at night so it never caused me to lose sleep. This apartment is an absolute steal for the price—I would certainly recommend it to a friend.
