Not usually one to leave reviews but feel compelled to based on how wonderful my stay here was. Menardi hotel has been family-owned and operated for several generations and there is something so special about this place. I stayed here with my trekking tour both before and after our trek thru the Alta Via 1. Rooms here are clean, recently renovated. Bathrooms are LUXURIOUS w/great lighting. Our room window opened to a grassy lawn so it was very quiet. Breakfast buffet was complimentary and AMAZING; I miss having my yogurt there with fresh honey straight from the comb! Great location imo; 10 min walk from downtown Cortina where there are many shops and restaurants; 15 min walk from the main bus station in Cortina. Most of all though you feel like you are being cared for by family here. I unfortunately had a hiking accident while in the Dolomites that required me to be seen at a local medical center on the day of my initial checkout. Michael who was working the front desk was kind enough to drive me to the ER. He also helped me find a room in the hotel to extend my stay while I sorted out my travel plans even though online it was showing they were fully booked. When you are halfway across the world from your family and friends, injured & by yourself, I can't say how much the Menardi family's hospitality meant to me. I am forever thankful to have found this slice of home in Cortina and look forward to staying there again soon!
