Free WiFi was a nice touch as mobile reception can be an issue in buildings that date back 400 or 500 years. I have been told that all Rooms have a flat-screen TV (ours did). Our rooms had a private bathroom with a shower and bidet. Free good quality toiletries were provided. This residence offers about 10 rooms. Each one is different. Comfortable bed. Ours had a second one person bed too. Absolute silence at night which means that you'll sleep very well. The main issue for some visitors will be getting to this location. Public transportation from Naples or Rome to Alatri might work. Buses to Fumone are infrequent so having a car to get there is advisable. I did not see any taxis in any of the towns I visited in this area though there may be a few available.. Once you reach Fumone you'll be obliged to park you vehicle and will have to walk a relatively steep uphill cobbled road (about 800 meters) which is not an issue if you re in good physical shape. The cobble stones in some cases probably have been there for 500 years or so which means that in bad weather slips and falls are a risk to be coped with. High heels are really not a good idea ever. Tennis or hiking shoes are advisable to walk around Fumone. We were told that during the winter that narrow steep path gets iced over. People in wheelchairs might find this fairly difficult as would people not accustomed to walking uphill and downhill. Your luggage should have good wheels as there is no way for vehicles to enter Fumone so you'll have to get to the Residence on foot. Breakfast was free and very good by continental standards. We saw no offer for cooked breakfast but the fruit, yogurt and other offerings were very good and abundant. There did not seem to be a limit in terms of coffee, orange juice and so forth. I have read some reviews that were not overly enthusiastic. Cleanliness was absolute. Room servicing and cleaning was excellent. Possibly these reviews date back some years when the Residence was just starting operation. The staff is helpful and courteous. I am 1.80 (6ft) tall. I had to bend forward to get through a few doors because the height of some doors is the same as it was in the middle ages when the average height then was around 5 feet (1.55 mt). A place worthwhile going to. Will I return there? If I am in the area again most certainly.
