We cannot say enough about our stay here. It was Fantastic! First let me say that it is located in an old apartment/office that have been converted into hotel rooms. So if you are looking for a traditional hotel with a reception desk, a concierge this is not the place for you. What this is, is a clean, well kept floor of rooms that make if fun and affordable to see the Cinque Terre. The location is superb being located in the heart of LA Spezia trendy food and shopping area only 100 steps from restaurants and bars. The train station is about an easy 5 minute walk. The room was exceptionally clean and modern. The bathroom was updates and soaps and shampoos were provided daily. The bed was comfortable and the sheets crisp. As far as room size goes, it was bigger than what we normally expect in Europe. Yes the air conditioners are portable units, but ours worked well and one must remember that in many older style buildings cooling is not an option period. Yes the TV is micro in size, but for those who read my reviews you will know my feelings on TV and travel. The breakfast is not at the hotel but at a choice of 2 cafes just town the street. It consists of a coffee, juice and sweet cake. For those of you who think that is cheap, remember that this is a typical European breakfast. If you are looking for a Dennys grand slam meal, you are on the wrong continent. Lastly the staff are fantastic. When you arrive you call the number listed on the door and Adrianna with come from her residence around the corner to let you in and get you settled. She will give you tons of info and tips on what to see and how to get around. On a personal note, I would like to extend a special thank you to her. Our luggage was delayed by our airline and then sent to our old hotel in Venice. She took the extra steps to make sure all was corrected and our bags made it safely to us. Great Job! I would highly recommend a stay here, especially if you are here to see Italy without all the high priced frills.
