This hotel had its charming days in the passed. The view, surroundings and the location are unbeatable, but the decor (interior and exterior) has seen better days. The marble staircase with the wooden handrail and decor are still impressive without a doubt. Our room was spacious, but the shower in the bathroom was "pressed" into the corner. There was hardly any room and it was leaky = wet floor around the shower area after the shower. It was quiet during the night and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was not very good and was missing quite a few things. They didn't have any scrambled eggs or bacon, which disappointed me, since we were in a Grand Hotel. Most of the staff was friendly, except for the waitor in the dining room during breakfast. He obviously doesn't know how to smile or at least how to be friendly. All in all it was not a bad, but also not a good experience staying there. Apart from the breakfast, it was a relatively good value for what we paid. In the future we would rather choose to stay directly in Rome because of the long commute.
