Friend's Hostel

Very nice, quiet. Very friendly personnel. Subway is very close, as well as bus stop. Supermarket is not so close, but it is not a problem. Good place to go shopping, see places of interest. onderful cathedrals, feel the sense of a great city.

Really friendly.

We booked a private room for four people. When we arrived the owner sent us SMSes asking when we'd arrive. He also gave us clear instructions when we arrived and had also printed instructions in english around the hostel area. However, his english was not really good and it was difficult to communicate with him. When we discussed bed bugs with another traveller in the kitchen area he said in italian that "it was impossible". We did not get any explanation or tips on what to do when two of us were suffering from bite marks. On the positive side we really valued the kitchen area with cooking facilities and 24/7 access to hour room with our own room key (except that we were not allowed to stay in the hostel between 11 am and 2 pm supposedly because he was cleaning the facilities). The best way to improve this hostel would be to improve the customer service by e.g. hiring somebody who can speak better english.

Do not go to that hostel!
The owner deleted our reservation half an hour before the check - in closing time! He called us and in a very rude way started to complain that we would have arrived too late for him (even though we were on time) and he screamed at the phone that our room was no longer reserved, at the end we had to find another solution at 22.30! A real nightmare!

Definitely to avoid!

The owner was rude, arogant and aggressive. He insult me because I don't know he accept only cash.

In work time reception many time closed.
You have to call the owner and stand.

I don't need many but there you miss the basics. I visited many hostel around the world but this was the worst.

I realise this is a hostel not the Hilton but this place is a shocker. 
We arrived at 1.50, the owner was there but made us wait outside until 2pm. He seemed very annoyed we arrived when it looked like he was on his way out.
The room was dirty bathroom a disgrace and it wasnt particularly cheep at all.

Another guest arrived the 2nd night when we were there and the owner was no where to be seen. Luckly there was a spare mattress under the stairs and we gave him a pillow and blanket, otherwise he was going to be stuck outsider for the night.
