Hotel Idea Hotel Milano San Siro 

Well, it would appear myself and the other reviewers stayed at 2 completely different hotels. Myself, my partner and 2 friends arrived 31st December 2022, we were greeted by a lovely lady on reception who explained everything we needed to know. We were given the keys to our rooms and off we went. Rooms - yes, basic, but we asked for extra pillows and they were given to us. Clean and tidy, maid came in every day to give us fresh towels and make the bed. Aircon worked as it should and as we had a ground floor room we could also open the window for some fresh air. Breakfast - a nice selection of local breads / cakes. Eggs, boiled and scrambled, bacon and sausages. Along with all of this, cereal, a selection of ham / cheeses, coffee and a juice machine. Staff - lovely. Granted, some of the staff speak very little English, but we were in Italy, so why should they be expected to speak our language if we don’t speak theirs? Bar / restaurant - opened at 5pm closed at 11pm. Restaurant served pizzas and toasties until 10:30pm for a reasonable price of between 7€-10€. Shuttle bus to San Siro Stadium - yes, you have to pre book and I believe the last morning slot is 11/11:30. This drops you off outside the football stadium and straight outside M5 metro station. Alternatively, come out of the hotel, turn left, follow the road round, under the bridge, turn right and the bus stop is there, catch the 76 bus to the bus station (the last stop, you can’t miss it) and then hop on the M1 line, this will take you directly to Duomo. (Price is £1.78 for the metro and the same for the bus, it works out as 2€, you can’t pay by cash, it’s Milano card / contactless card only) Failing public transport, you can get a taxi, the most we paid for a taxi was 1am New Years Day and it cost us 32.50€. We flew into BGY and had some issues with our Milano cards, so we got a coach from the airport to Milano Central station (12€pp) and then used the metro / buses to get to the hotel. Overall, we had a great time. Hotel was lovely, not sure why there’s so many negative to comments. We paid £170 per couple for 3 nights from 31st Dec to 3rd Jan, including breakfast, you can’t complain at that price for a decent hotel with friendly staff and a very reasonably priced bar.
