San Paolo Palace Hotel 

This is a lovely hotel. The reviews had me worried but let me assure you this place is perfect for a holiday. The food: The breakfast is excellent and you have a wide selection of pastries and cakes with lots of flavours. Their dinner was lovely I only dined once in the restaurant but my beef fillet was soft juicy and had a lovely sauce. Pastries are also free to take at the pool bar after breakfast which is very handy. You have everything you need to make a good sandwhich for breakfast Coffee, eggs , bacon , cheese , tomatoes, juice are also available. The solarium: Pool is lovely, it’s deep and all one level , no bugs nearby, plenty of seating and towels. It closes from 1-3pm as there’s no lifeguard on duty but you can get back in the pool if you are a confident swimmer there’s no issue with that. You need a pool hat I think they are €3 in cash we just brought ours from home. Pool bar is nice all plastic cups and they have icecream fruit and toasties. The bar downstairs has a wide selection of drinks and makes a very nice spritz. The room: Always clean, has adjustable AC, mini fridge, safe, white bedsheets , modern, plenty of storage and drawers. We got a double bed, two drawers , wardrobe , mirror and tv. The bathroom has a shower bidet and toilet. The area: The area has a lot of building work around it but has beautiful views of the mountains and the sea. Transport: It has a bus stop right across from the hotel where the buses aren’t always regular I would recommend getting the tram which is consistent on timing but a ten minute walk away. Taxis cost about 16-30 euros. I would download ITtaxi as free now only works in the evenings. Most places are about a 30 min walk but in the heat during August that may be dangerous. One thing to be aware of is is that I wouldn’t recommend trying to walk if you have buggies or wheelchairs as there is occasional rubbish, broken paths or tree roots growing in the footpaths in the local area - this is a comment about the surrounding area not on the hotel itself and we had no issues within the hotel. The hotel itself : The staff are lovely polite and friendly, the hotel is very modern and we would happily come back. There is lots of ancient history and architecture to see in the area. Food is good and the hotel is clean. I have no complaints about the hotel. please don’t listen to bad reviews and let them sway your opinion we had a lovely holiday here. The only thing I would like to see is a bit of music played at the hotel in the evening downstairs or at the pool area.
