You know you've had a fantastic vacation when you leave teary-eyed. We wanted a vacation that was an Italian experience without the tourist vibe. We got that and more. In planning, I knew this hotel would be special from Angelo's kind and generous help through emails and phone calls. The amount of warmth and comfort far exceeded our expectations. We immediately felt at home to join Animazione activities or go off to relax poolside. We loved the Animazione team's enthusiasm -- not overbearing and always inviting. Angelo and Christina were fantastic in helping us set up unforgettable excursions. They went out of their way to make sure we were will taken care of as we ventured off without knowing Italian. The food was excellent. At first we opted for breakfast only thinking we would get bored but quickly changed to full fare. The variety was fantastic. We were able to explore Italian dishes that were new for us. An unexpected perk at meals, we loved to mingle (the best we could - lol) with our new friends at the hotel and fellow guests. Everyone was so friendly! The beach/water was divine.We changed our minds about rocky beaches. Walking and sitting on these gorgeous rocks were just as comfortable as a sandy beach. (Even better not to have sand in your pants.) And the hotel's beach area had everything needed to stay comfortable all day -- entertainment/exercise if you want, lounge chairs, rafts, drinks/food, showers. It didn't matter that the hotel wasn't on the beach. Getting to and from was very easy. In fact, the elevated view of Dino Island and the coastline made the location a bonus. We will always treasure this time and hope to return.
