Fantastic
7 reviewsVilla Ricci is the perfect place to stay for a long weekend (or longer!) in Venice. Firstly, Francesco is a wonderful host making you feel at home right away. He has prepared a welcome note, maps and interesting information and recommendations about Lido and Venice. Usually, I'm not a big fan of breakfast, however at Villa Ricci the breakfast is wonderful! Every morning I looked forward to getting up and going downstairs to sit in the beautiful lounge listening to relaxing music, and choose what I wanted for breakfast. Francesco prepares fresh fruit juice and fruit salad daily from whatever is good at the local shops. The breakfast menu (see updated menu photo which I've uploaded) is all made from fresh ingredients. We tried the poached egg on a savoury brioche bun with smoked ham, tomatoes and basil, and Nutella crepes. It is great to watch Francesco cook through the kitchen door and see the passion he puts into each dish. It is clear that he is a trained chef and has a real pride in his beautiful and delicious dishes. The rooms are spacious, very clean and beautifully decorated in a traditional venetian/art deco style. We stayed in "Charming" Room, which had a huge bed, walk in dressing room, balcony with a nice view and (my favourite) a shower with different jets and settings. The villa itself is just a few yards from a strip which sells all the coffee, ice cream, pasta and seafood you could ever want. And close to the water bus which will take you into central Venice, Murano or any of the other islands. I highly recommend staying at Villa Ricci, my husband and I both found it to be perfect and will definitely be visiting again!
