Kazakhstan Hotel provided me with a comfortable base for two days while exploring Almaty (when booking, I appreciated good communication, informing me about on-going reconstruction). This iconic hotel is situated within a walkable distance (10 – 15 minutes) to some beautiful sightseeing points (Zenkov/Ascension Cathedral, Kök Töbe Tower, parks, etc.), as well as Abay metro station. My room was clean, comfortable, almost at the top therefore offering some stunning views. I found the reception staff approachable and very helpful (booking a taxi, promptly sorting out the key card issues). The breakfast choice was great, one could try some local food (cheese, bakery products), which I always welcome; the breakfast area is well organised too. On the highest floor there is a Sky Bar with lovely and highly professional staff, plus amazing views. I can recommend this hotel … thank you and looking forward to coming back one day.
