Resident Hotel Gogol 

I have just left Almaty on my way back to London. I stayed at this hotel for four nights. My flight was rather early and I requested pick up at the airport. I did receive that. The driver was really nice and made an attempt to talk to me since the main languages there are Russian and Kazakh. The reception was there to greet me and offered me coffee and phoned an independent contractor to take me to the Big Lake Almaty. He was nice but he needs to communicate with the hotel in regards to his rates since what was listed was not what he charged in person. In terms of the hotel, it was clean, AC worked, the breakfast was definitely continental but I loved the rice cereal that was brought to me. We communicated by google translate if needed but half the time it wasn’t necessary. Oxanna was so sweet and we hugged when I left. Her daughter told me about the subway in Almaty which contains art and the history behind that art. I felt very comfortable there as a woman of color who speaks English. I would return there. I thank both Oxanna and Magarite for making feel at ease. I apologize for the misspelling of your names ladies. The room is quite spacious and the bathroom was nicer than the one I had in Wales.
