The Mackenzie Apartments

This place turned out to be the best place we stayed on our trip around the lakes. The views of Lake Tekapo from the rooms and the balcony were amazing! We couldn’t get enough of the views. The apartment is located on a very quiet back street,  just a short distance from the town center, part way up a hill, easy enough to walk 10min down to the restaurants. Our 2-bedroom apartment was amazing – spacious, luxurious, and bright. The place was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. We had a full kitchen, 2 living areas and 2 bedrooms/bathrooms – and a garage as well. We appreciated the washer/dryer in the garage. We loved the electronic kiosk set up with all the information we needed about the apartment and the local area. Check-in and check-out were very easy and our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Overall we had an amazing stay and didn’t want to leave. Highly recommended to all travelers looking for a great base in Tekapo.

We were in a lake front suite which was much more than we expected.  Everything was perfect, from the four poster bed, luxurious bathroom, see through gas fire and the deck with fabulous views. Super clean and comfortable. Couldn’t fault a thing. Exceptional value for money.

This place has everything you would ever want! The kitchen is overstocked with every cooking need that a regular home has. It has a garage for your car, a washer & dryer in your apartment, a cute fireplace, books, King bed with ensuite, a second bedroom with 2 single beds plus another bathroom. There are added touches, like slippers on your bed, coffee, tea, salt & pepper, olive oil.  It's close to the lake and in a very quiet area. Loved this place!!

This is one of the best motels I have ever stayed in. It is a 5-Star in my book!

The hostess is lovely and very helpful. 

You get everything you could need.

The property is finished to a very high standard. You get a designer bath, a washing machine and dryer, dishwasher and cooking facilities.

The views over the lake are fantastic.
It takes around 10 minutes to walk into town.

For a short stay, this place is the tops!

We loved the Mackenzie Suites. Very comfortable bed, seating and a wonderful gas fireplace. Well appointed, great location. Sat for ages looking at the view, locals ducks visited. Easy check in and out, friendly managers. Easy to park. Really, all we could want, would return again. Highly recommended.

Even the local Ducks came to visit, Everything you could need is right here your own designated parking space well equipped rooms and views you can only dream of

This was a bit of splash out for us but it was worth every penny: the view, the (gas) fireplace, the service, the little nice details throughout the apartment. What a lovely stay: the views are AMAZING.

Booked a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment, and it surpassed our expectations. The apartment was roomy, very clean and perfect for what we wanted. Also very reasonably priced.
The lovely young lady welcomed us in and explained everything, advised us on different places to visit and recommended places to eat.
Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay, we would loved to have stayed longer.

A really nice apartment with spectacular view of Lake Teakpo and the stars.  Very nice hosts with a book on recommended places to visit, eat at, etc and a farmlet nearby to walk to with sheep and a calf which was a highlight for our young one. Located close to everything and in walking distance so would highly recommend.  Also had a garage to lock your car away for the night also.

Nice Accommodation for a stop over on way to Queenstown

My daughter and I stayed here in the upstairs unit.  On arriving Host was amazing in sharing information, places to go, people to use - thank you.

Apartment had an amazing view. Lake Tekapo is amazing!!

Apartment was large 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms and good living areas.  Great decks at front and back.  Very clean. I guess for me the furniture was antique type I would had given 5 stars if it had modern furniture - but thats really just us. Our personal style.

Amazing Location. Amazing Host.

Not sure how you could give this anything but a 5 out of 5. Huge apartment (basically like a house). Nicely renovated interior  with new kitchen and bathrooms and a large internal access garage. Heat pump and gas fireplace. Incredible views over lake Tekapo and the Southern Alps. Lovely host who was exceptionally good with our 2 year old. Couldnt have asked for better. Highly recommend.


Brilliant Accommodation 

These apartments (we had first floor one)  have outstanding views.  Very close to town,  The apartment we had has two bedrooms , one with ensuite, a large living area with fully-equipped kitchen,  a gas fireplace as well as  airconditioner.  The furniture is eclectic but in a fashion that makes you feel at home.  The units have garaging as well with internal access.  Our host was extremely welcoming and very helpful with advice on things to do and see.

First rate accommodation and excellent host

It was such an amazing stay! The view was breathtaking, the location was perfect and quiet.  My husband and I did not want to leave as we felt at home in the cozy apartment that had a full kitchen (minus oven) and was equipped with cookware, coffee and tea, a washer and dryer, amazing fireplace and the largest, most amazing bathtub to soak in. Ivan and his wife were so friendly and welcoming. Had we known how relaxing and perfect it was going to be here, we would’ve arranged for more nights. It was a great location since you can walk into town or to the local hiking trails.

The whole town has this peacefulness and solitude that I can’t explain it- you must experience it. I was up with the sunrise on the deck, and out there again for sunset. My only complaint is you can tell guests have been feeding the ducks, so we couldn’t leave the sliding door open for air, as these “guests” felt they could walk on in. But not the owners faults at all. We have ducks at home and know how they can be.

Definitely the best place we stayed while in the beautiful country of New Zealand!
