The guest house was modest but the room was clean. You are not going to stay here because the accommodations are fancy or for the value. You are going to stay here because it is just COOL to do so. The village is quaint and the views are majestic. We had three adults in the family room, it was a little tight, but no one complained. The cafe across the street does not open for breakfast until 10:00 but the "shop" opens at 9:00. We bought fresh baked bread, cheese and sausage for an enjoyable breakfast. Our stay in Undredal was one of our favorite parts of our trip to Norway.

Not fancy but the views are majestic

The apartment was just like it was described.  It became difficult to get the key because the owner was busy and had to come and give us the key.  No air conditioning, not a real problem.  The problem was the property around the house was a campground, not the kind with slots, trees, driveways and services, but a grassy area crammed with as many cars and tents and camper vans as possible and they could walk up to go to the bathroom or use the communal wash machine and stare in our windows.  So kind of a nightmare;  hot but when we opened the window we had a stream of faces staring in.

Very well kept and furnished 1st floor apartment in village center location with reasonable view of the fjiord.   Very kind and helpful host.
Positives: Undredal has a good shop and there is a good value restaurant overlooking the fjiord a two minutes walk from the apartment.
Negatives: There is a camp side right next to the apartment so one is bothered by cooking smells and must keep quiet at night to avoid disturbing the campers.

Probably the best place to stay in Undredal

This is a very, very small village. Someone told us 50 people live there. And 500 goats. 
This village is known for their amazing goat cheese. So, if you plan on staying here, you should not expect a fancy hotel, but an adventure.
If you look at it that way, this apartments are just fine.
The major problem was not having blackout curtains on the living room, where the sofa bed was.
Shower was good, but we ran out of hot water and had to wait a little for the kids to be able to shower.
We arrived at 7:30 pm and we were grateful for the cafe right across the street. We had an amazing goat stew for dinner.
But they only open at 11 am, so don't expect breakfast. It is better to have some food at the apartment.
Our room did not have a nice view, since there was a camping area right outside, but when you get out of the house and look at those fjords, and breathe that fresh cold air... it is really amazing.

Think adventure and everything will be fine.

The view was fantastic and village was quaint; that is where it ends.  When I first arrived I greeted a women, who turned out to be one of the owners, with a smile I asked if she could help me check into the apartment.  She gave me the look of disgust.  Language barrier played a part which I completely understand.  It just wasn't a warm genuine welcome.  I even called ahead and told them our arrival time and arrived right on time.  It shouldn't had been a surprise that I was inquiring about checking into the apartment.  Sadly the apartment was dirty, the noise from folks congregating on the benches below the apartment until the wee hours of the morning, and the uncomfortable beds made this a place to avoid.  The floor through the apartment had long black hair strewn about.  As well as layers of dust.  We all had headaches every morning from the soft beds and hard sofa bed.  I know hotel beds in general aren't the best just letting you know what to expect.  I really wanted this to be the highlight stay of our Scandinavia trip.  Based on reviews on Booking.com I thought it would be.  Went to Oslo after and stayed at the chic Oslo Gundsmeden for the same price and had an outstanding organic breakfast and accommodations for the same price per night.  Every other place we stayed we found the staff to be welcoming.  Norwegians are quite friendly.  We by no means are demanding people.  Just want clean accommodations.
