Arrived late after a long drive from Oslo. I was greeted warmly, and the next morning the breakfast was spectacular.  Thank you!

Stayed in one of the cabins and they are really nice and cosy. The best thing about this place is the breakfast though. The pancakes are delicious and the staff is so attentive so it’s always fresh eggs and bacon and pancakes for you. They’ve also got really nice dinner pancakes if you choose to eat dinner here. The price is reasonable and you get a really good value.

We visited the hotel on separate 2019, tow rooms for five nights, the staff was great and friendly, the location is great and the hotel view was amazing. You can reach voss and flam easily from the hotel, so many beautiful spots you can plan from here.

We stopped here while on a roadtrip, & had very good food. Not many choices on the menu, I think three, but we chose Kjøttkake, & it was very tasty, & a big portion. The place is old, & filled with history. You can also spend the night there, the rooms & cabins looked cozy.

We stayed in a 2-person cabin with all the basics. The shared showet/toilet was clean. Friendly staff.

Great views of the area. The service was superb; especially that of Livia, who made us feel as if we were in our own home.

Our cozy room was decorated with authentic Norwegian antiques. The bed was comfortable and the atmosphere was quiet. The setting couldn't have been more lovely, nestled in the Eidfjord Valley. The food was delicious (both dinner and breakfast), cooked by an attentive chef on site. The staff were helpful and friendly. We couldn't have been more at home.The one drawback was a shared bathroom, but it was kept clean and it was very handy.

Not to everyone's taste I'm sure but after a long day driving through the fjords from Sweden this little gem was just what we needed. You can choose from little cabins in the front or rooms in the main building with a common unisex bathroom. We stayed in the main building and it was tidy and quiet. Great crepe-forward food for dinner and breakfast. Not a four-star hotel for sure but a great place to recharge and relax and the staff was super friendly and helpful. One if the highlights of our trip.

Cute place with the best pancakes

2019 trip

 Lovely old place! 

It's a bit of an oddity this place. There wasn't that great a welcome on arrival and it's a strange environment to walk into. I think it has once been an eccentric cosy place to stay but now seems to be loosing it's way a bit. The staff were very young and I don't think were locals. The pancakes were tasty and available with a choice of fillings for dinner, at an extra cost, or for part of the stay at breakfast, served plain but with jams. There is mention online to them serving the local cider, but when I asked for one the girl told me they don't stock it any more which is a shame. Breakfast was good. The room however had a funny smell and lots of flies. I asked for fly spray but there was none, so you just had to have flies in your room. The walls were also very thin, so much so you could hear snoring coming from neighbouring rooms, as well as conversations and other noises. The setting is very nice, with great scenery and is convenient for the vøringsfossen waterfall.

Funny place

After a massive drive from Oslo to Lillehammer, to the Stegastein viewing platform via a 24.5km tunnel we arrived late afternoon at Eidfjord.  This was about the only reasonably priced accommodation I could find for a family of 4.  On check in, there was no bedding for the 2 children, where the staff found 2 mattresses to sleep on.  Room was small with no tv or fridge, and the bathroom was smaller than a cruise ship.  Essentially the rooms are more of a guest house, not a self contained motel.  From memory half of the rooms had a shared bathroom.  You are away from the centre of town and parking is free.

Compensating for this was the food available at the restaurant - particularly if you like pancakes.  Breakfast is served from 8am (would have preferred a bit earlier to continue our drive).  There are a lot of stuffed animals mounted on the walls of this hotel.   Across the road from the hotel is a camp group where you can walk down to the water way.  There were two cruise ships docked in the centre of town.
