Bardøla Fjelltun

Stayed July 2024 with family of 5 in a one bedroom apartment for one night while driving between the fjords and Oslo. There is a separate bedroom for parents, while the kids slept in the cozy bunk beds and they setup and additional bed for my 3rd child. The room was large, recently updated, had a well equipped kitchenette and we all slept well. It's an ideal room for a family. The balcony was huge and offered a nice view to the north of the ski hill. The hotel itself is stylish and has been recently updated while still preserving the character and history. It gives the feeling of being in an authentic Norwegian mountain hotel. There is no need for air conditioning even in July, since Geilo is about 750m above sea level and the nights are quite cool. Location would be good for skiing, though I would recommend a car as there appears not to be groceries within walking distance. Parking was ample and free of charge (nice surprise in Norway). The pool is really nice and my kids thoroughly enjoyed it. An added bonus is the laundry facilities on site that allow you to do your own laundry for a small fee. Laundromats are very few and far between in Norway. We didn't eat breakfast here, but instead picked up some things from Circle K. I would absolutely stay here again, and I highly recommend especially for families.
