We were a group of 2 families and wanted to stay next to each other, so 2 adjacent cottages were just perfect to our needs. The surroundings are very peaceful and quiet, and we didn't really notice the presence of other cottage users nearby. The cottages are basic but entirely self contained and in very good condition. The provision of basic amenities such as hand soap and washing detergent would make it even more pleasant (yes, I know that, according to Jacob, some people complained about the detergent bleaching their clothes and hat it why it was discontinued, but it would have spared us a trip to nearby Skei anyway). There is a choice of 4 walks that are well explained on the website, with printed maps posted at the Summer Cafe on the premises. We did the easiest trek, which took us almost 3 hours and was enjoyed by the kids and adults alike. Jacob the host was extremely pleasant and obliging and didn't mind our delayed arrival as late as 10pm.
