The new owners of this hotel are wonderful hosts, the food is amazing and the setting is perfect.  The team take very good care of everyone and everything.  Rooms are functional but have everything you need including comfortable beds.  Views of the lake and the mountains opposite make this a great place to stay in Gålå.

We stayed in Gala while hiking in Norway with Distant Journeys. This hotel was under new ownership and it was fantastic. It is located at Langslavegen 6 in Gala. The rooms were so clean and comfortable. The beds were fabulous. The food was delicious but the best part was the owners welcoming. They were so friendly and thoughtful. I recommend staying there if you are in that area of Noway. Past ownership gave this place a bad rep but these new owners have totally corrected that reputation.

We stayed at this resort for a week via Interval and overall was very pleased with our stay. The two bedroom cabin was cozy and comfortable and it was tempting to stay indoor. The unit came with full kitchen and all in great condition and spotless. We stayed in cabine 823 by the lake and liked the tranquility and the fresh air.

We tend to come back here year after year. Their food is excellent, rooms are old, but comfortable, and, most of all, their hospitality is outstanding. Friendly faces and helpful advise for where to go and what to see. Fifty years ago, dinner jackets were the rule for the evening. They have been replaced by comfy shirts and no tie…

We chose the hotel for being closest to the Peer Gynt Festival this summer. About 1000 m above sea level, with a splendid view of the lake below and ranges of mountains behind. A family style welcome, quaint old rooms with comfortable beds and adequate bathroom facilities; a rich selection of foods at the evening buffet, and a solid Norwegian breakfast – all at reasonable prices. We found the place also very convenient for extensive walks in the highlands. Will be back!

Old Hotel with a Soul

Oldfashioned Gem in the Mountains

Amazing nature

This si a high mountain resort where you primarly go to ski in the winter an hiking in the summer. 
We, two adults and one cild age 6, were there for the easter wacation. At that time, alle mountain resorts in Norway are fully booked. More so thei year tha normaly, since we had the best weather for some 30' yrs. 
Reception: Nic and freidly satff.
Room: Very basic, needs refurbishing,but have good sice, wall to wall carpeting (scandinavians prefer hardwood) but god sice bathroom whit floor heating.The beds are a bit on the hard side, but ok. Good sofabed for children. Abig minus for the TV. Old, 14" something. Completly useless.One other thing is the drapes. Beeing high up in the Nordic mouintans, it gets light were early, obout 0400 in the morning. The drapes in our room was white and "see through" thin. It is not very fun to vake up to full daylight at 0400. In the summer it hardly gets dark outside at al, so how they expect the gusets to get any sleep i dont know... This coukd be easly fixed...
Food: Good selction for breakfast, minus for powder eggs, pluss for waffels. 
We did not eat dinner at the hotel.
Bearing in mind that yoy do not go tho this kind of hotel just for the room and food, but to experience some of Europs most spectacular nature, this is an ok place to do it from

Basic -  but good

Terrible service , bad food , no alcohol in the bar pit , cold rooms , not worth of that money 200 euro per night is way too much fo this sh.... !!!! There is some other hotels , nexxt time ill go there but never again to this place . If u want to waist your money and be pissed off this is place for u .
