Stayed here last night. Granted it was out of season but we were amazed to find we were the only people here. For a very reasonable price (about half what you would pay in the UK) we had a 3 bedroom lodge with sauna and hot tub. The location is stunning. Sitting in a hot tub with silence around you for miles is a nice enough experience. Then if the sky clears you'll want to get the coffee machine on and sit outside to watch the dazzling aurora. Don't worry if you get too cold, 10 minutes by the fireplace or in the sauna and you'll be ready for more. Paradise. We will be back.

We booked into Torsetlia (cabins) very late (about 10pm) we did not expect for the jacuzzi to be ready to use due to our late booking, although it was set up and ready to go! Absolutely beautiful views and wildlife surround the cabin. The lodge was absolutely huge, with lovely facilities and furniture. The staff were also very nice and welcoming. By far worth the money we paid for it! Me and my partner absolutely adored the short one night stay. Be warned, do bring bedding as it is not provided. This was the absolute highlight of my Norway trip. Would stay again in a heartbeat! 

If you are in Norway by car this is a great place to stay overnight right on HW40 going across a mountain area. Beware that the road can be tricky especially during winter. The lodge has good rooms with heating, very friendly service and a GREAT breakfast. The lodge is old but feel clean. A little expensive though.

Went straight from Oslo Gardermoen Oslo airport by car to Torsetlia. Was greeted by a dinner of smoked and cured moose filet, followed by fried wild brown trout so perfectly cooked it left the bone by command and ended with a traditional Norwegian dessert, "tilsloerte bondepiker". Yummie!
Woke the next day and got ready for a day of fly-fishing in  arctic winds. Caught seven beautiful brown, wild trout before heading back for yet another exciting dinner.
Ending the day with the friendly host, planning tomorrow's fishing. It's surreal, fishing after breakfast in some of Norway's high mountain lakes in the morning and expecting to be back home in Sussex in the evening.

Stayed in one of the cabins next to the mountain hotel/ lodge. The cabins are  still very nice and comfortable even if they are ten to fifteen years old now. We stayed in a cabin back in 2002 , and felt just as comfy today as then. Gryntebu - the name of our cabin - had to bathrooms, four bedrooms and a living/ dining room with an open kitchen. A little terrace outside. 
We used the fireplace in the evenings which is very nice even during a summer evening with only a few degrees Celsius outside !!! 
Friday evening we had dinner in the hotel: reindeer , elk, and delicious dessert followed by wine and beer. The main dishes were tasty ,and the portions were big. The restaurant is very cozy and so is the rest of the hotel. Torsetlia is situated in a beautiful area , and convenient almost midway between Bergen and Oslo driving the Hardangevidda plateau and Numedal valley !

Worst communication ever as well.  A room for the night was $125.  There is nothing written anywhere bring your own linens was expected.  Rental for one night of bed sheets was $42.  Offered us 2 beers and a cola as we thought we was being nice for the bedding issue but upon check out the cost was $31.  The owner was misleading and not very cordial.  Our questions were answered with mumbles and unclear responses.  What he said in terms of pricing was underestimated according to our check out bill.  Breakfast was also to be included, however for 2 servings of 1 egg on toast with water was $49.  ADD IT UP!   $247 USD FOR 1 NIGHT, 3 DRINKS AND BREAKFAST WITHOUT A VIEW!
