I really appreciated this guest house. The owners are so nice, even including me in their trip to church on Sunday. They put out a lot of food every day - I was never hungry. The rooms are simple and clean and actually bigger than I expected. I really enjoyed my stay and enjoyed meeting these nice hosts!

The rooms are very clean and nice, although the toilet was a bit tiny in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the view from the room was very special. The breakfast was very good with tasteful bread and toppings. The nicest was the service of the couple Gheorge and Mihaela, which were very thoughtful and great hosts. I would recommend this place to stay in Zarnesti.

The route from Targoviste to Zarnesti is so beautiful, full of incredible sceneries Thinking about the place where we will stay in Zarnesti we arrived at Pensiunea Casa Zarnasteana in the afternoon. We were greeted by the owner  who guided us to the parking place.  This place is so clean and beautiful that you will love to stay here as we did.  The owner and his family are so friendly and helpful  with everything that we  couldn't believe  we found them and this incredible place. The view in the back of the building amazed us that we loved to spend time outside and surroundings. Great place to stay and to come back in the future!!! Gabriela and The Family.

Zarnesti is well worth a visit for the national park and we were so lucky to find this accommodation. It’s new, really clean with good WiFi and ideally placed for both the town and the park. We had a standard double on the top floor with beautiful views of the mountain from our balcony. The hosts are excellent, really keen to make sure we had everything we needed and really helpful and positive. We ended up extending our stay for a fourth night because we felt so good in the pension and there was still so much to see. Recommended 100%

I spent 2 nights in this hotel. The place was very nice, it was clean  and there were spacious rooms. Some rooms also have mountains view.  The hotel also have a kitchen which can be used by the guests and also a grill so you can cook there if you want. It's 15 minutes from the train station by foot. I liked the fact that the accommodation was not in the center but closer to the point where the mountains trails start. It was quite and nice, so you could spend a relaxing weekend there. the prices are good. I recommand.

The host even called us before we arrived and called us a taxi to take us from the train station.

We booked this accommodation during a bike-trip in Transylvania for 2 or 3 nights. We liked it very much and would love to stay there once more in the future. The room was very large (2 double beds), clean, quiet. The venue offers a private parking in the back of the house. The location is very well maintained, with new-ish furniture and nice views in the back. 
We didn't like the fact that it doesn't offer breakfast.

Great stay in Zarnesti

There are two buildings - one close to the main street, without any view, and one behind, with fabulous mountain view (we could not see much though, as it was foggy during our stay). We came in a large group and rented the whole first building and 3 bedrooms in the second one. Bedrooms are spacious, clean and warm (maybe too hot at times), so are the bathrooms. Bathrooms in the attic rooms are a challenge, as there is insufficient height in the showers and the toilets. Water pressure is not great and sometimes hot water stops completely for a short while. 

There is a small yard between the two buildings - we have spent quite a lot of time here, even though it was chilly at times - and a large one behind the second building. 

Meals are served on the ground floor of the second building, in a spacious hall. Food is pretty basic, but tasty. There is also a kitchen on the ground floor of the first building, I guess used for self service.

Decorations in the second building are a bit strange (lights and paintings, tiled floors except for the rooms) and do not fit in the environment - I would have expected a more rustic ambiance in line with the surroundings.

A plus for the owners - Mihaela and Dragos - who are very friendly and helpful.

Weekend in a large group

Traveling trough Zarnesti, we have asked to rent an ATV for one hour. We found a nice place that was offering ATVs for rent . The owner lady told us it is going to cost us 200 Lei and must be guided by her husband. We paid the lady and got ready for the ride. After a while her husband arrived took us for a ride. The ride was very disappointing and at least half of it was on paved road and extremely dangerous.  The ride lasted an hour and a half (without us asking for it). At the end of the ride the husband demanded that we will pay additional 200 Lei and got mad when we told him it is unfair to force us to pay for something we haven't asked for. At the end we paid additional money  just to  calm him. Don't recommend them at all...
