Great people, great hostage, great food! Peaceful and friendly weekend in a great environment! Thank to Ogrezean Ghica family and for their hospitality! We ,me and my husband had a great journey! By, until next time!

We had a great stay at La Ogre. Our superior bungalow was fantastic with a very nice bed and with very large and new bathroom. Great that we had a swingingpool. We didn't leave the property because our host prepared us a very good meal. And in the morning we had a great breakfast. The best was our host. He showed us his property and we had a very nice conversation. We will come back in we can next holliday and stay for longer! 

Comprising a cluster of buildings around a central space, La Ogre is ideal for individual travellers (like me) or small groups, but could also cater for larger school parties. There are games/sports facilities and a pool.

I was greeted with the offer of a hot meal; perfect after biking over the Transalpina Pass in a storm. The food was delicious, as was breakfast. Owner Paul is an excellent host and we spent a very pleasant evening swapping stories over drinks.

Horezu is a 20 min drive from the Southern gateway to Transalpina so it's perfectly placed for those wishing to experience (or get soaked on) one of Europe's best roads. The edge of town location makes it handy for local amenities, whilst being tucked away behind Paul's house gives privacy.

Apparently I was the first ever British guest but I've no idea why as it seemed like the ideal place to me. Oh and the room was huge, modern and very clean.

I stayed during 10 nights, with my family, in this lovely pension of Horezu - a small and nice city, located in North of Oltenia and well known (not only in Romania)  for its traditional and beautiful pottery products. Despite its position in the mid-town and on the National road 67 (linking cities Ramnicu Valcea and Targu Jiu), this pension is not affected by the route noise. It includes a big and nice private yard (full of flowers, trees, hammocks, banks, etc.), about 20 rooms in 4 bungalows (for maximum 45 customers), a well maintained and cleaned swimming pool (14 x 6m and 1,5m deep), fitness equipment, pool tables, big parking and 3 lunch tables.
Rooms are well equipped, designed, and maintained. A free very good Wi-Fi connection was available...
Around Horezu there are many tourist attractions such as, for example, the most beautiful alpine road of Romania (the new TRANSLPINA – with pics over 2000m high), some old beautiful monasteries and churches, old fortified houses ("cule"), grottos, trovanti stones, pottery workshops and shops, etc.
But the best of the best in LA OGRE pension were our various, delicious, consistent and fresh meals prepared and served every day by the owners themselves (Paul and Carina) or/ and their helping personnel. Owners are currently speaking 4 languages (romanian, french, german and english) so that foreigners visitors may enjoy an efficient communication with their hosts. 
We will surely come back in our next holidays and stay for longer!

Very pleasant place for peaceful end of the week. Beautiful garden and good services. French, English and German as week good for communication.      
Near to beautiful monastery Arnota and Hurezu. Go there
