Sokcho Ritz Hotel 

I stayed in the Ritz Motel and Pension for 2 nights in early November. The hotel is located a 15-minute walk away from the Intercity Bus Terminal. The bus stop for the bus to the Seoraksan National Park (7-1) is a 5-10-minute walk away. Just 500m away is the lighthouse observatory and Yeonggeumjeong Pavillon where you can watch the sunrise which Sokcho is famous for. Also, the Dongmyeong Raw Fish Market is nearby. A convenience store is located on the ground floor just across the elevator. I think there is a karaoke bar downstairs. Check-in was a bit tricky as no one at the reception spoke English. When I showed my booking confirmation on my mobile, everything was clear. I received my key and a set of toiletries. You can also pick up a city map there. I stayed on the top floor in the last room of the corridor. I saw the port of Sokcho from my window. The room is spacious and modern. I loved the floor heating. The room was equipped will all necessities that I needed including a computer, hair dryer, TV, water kettle, fridge and towels (which are not that big though). The bed was decently comfortable; only the electrical blanket under the sheets was a bit slippery. Free water bottles are provided. The bathroom has a shower. Keep in mind that it is a (love) motel and don't be surprised by according guests. I wasn't bothered at all and didn't hear any noises or such during my stay. I think it is a good option for budget travelers. For the price of a hostel room, you get some extra comfort. It's a great value for money and exceeded my expectations.
