The Terranova Inn 

Small but sweet; The Terranova Inn is a little gem in Negombo, and despite the fact that was the first residence during my week long stay in Sri Lanka; It remained the benchmark for which I could compare to the other 4 hotels I stayed in. Situated in Negombo which is not too dissimilar from where I live in the coastal village of Grand Bay in Mauritius; I could easily make like to like comparisons with the latter. I wouldn't really say that it is a hotel, and I hope it doesn't claim to be one. The advantage of inns is that they accommodate very few clients but this is an advantage as the service is customized to suit either holidaying families or backpackers. Very good customer service. Good Hospitality, Nice Room with very comfortable rooms. Very clean bathrooms. The owner, Shayhan is a very accommodating person who incidentally learnt his trade in Mauritius. Breakfast is not the continental type but that's no problem as there are many restaurants down the road, especially Scandic restaurant 150m away. Safe area and especially recommended. Look no further !
