BS RESIDENCE Suvarnabhumi

What a great find, we had a 9 hour layover and zero desire to watch the minutes slowly drag by inside Suvarnabhumi Airport. The hotel is only 10 minutes away and they have free airport pick up and drop off. For those that don't know on the 2nd floor near door #3 of Suvarnabhumi is where you find a frenetic area with lists of hotels and numerous friendly people to help. They point out an area for you to wait in, and then come and collect you when your van arrives. Transfers are usually done on the hour or 1/2 hr. It seems chaotic but it works. We arrive at the hotel and get the usual Thai hospitality; a seamless check in and escorted to an enormous, spotlessly clean room with a large balcony, overlooking the pool. The hotel has several towers that surround a central pool. We kick back on the huge comfy bed, considered a swim but a massive storm rolled in so we opted to log into our Netflix account and relax. Ordered room service that arrived quickly, it was tasty and very reasonably priced. If you are longing for a more authentic option there is a local food market at the end of the laneway and a 7-11. The opportunity to lie down, take a shower, eat and put on fresh clothes in comfort was one of my better ideas having already been up for many hours with many more to go. They had no issues with us only staying for a few hours and the rate I got was way cheaper than those usually offered by transit specific hotel. I did have credits and loyalty discounts through my booking site but would have happily paid the regular rate. Thailand is our favourite SE Asia destination and if we have stopovers on future trips I will 100% choose this hotel again.
