Reasonably clean rooms 808 and 803. Older visitors may be concerned about slipping in the high sided tub in the rooms. The bonus was the refrigerator, electric kettle and pantry area with sink. The staff treated Thai guests and foreigners with warmth and patience. The street also has restaurants with air conditioning but the dishes are priced for tourists which means 3-4x the cost. There is a 7-eleven on the corner and now here is the secret for decent Thai food at native prices search on Google maps "Wooden Table Food Center" which is diagonal to the hotel and next to the 7-eleven. This food center houses a variety of food carts and caters to office workers. My Thai parents enjoyed this place immensely and laughed at the prices of touris restaurants nearby. I recommend Heritage Hotel in Silom because it is right by the Chong Nonsi Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS Skytrain). The BTS also has stations connected to Metropolitan Rapid Transit (MRT). Using BTS or MRT will help you save money during your stay in Bangkok. Waving down a tuk tuk in this area of Silom which is considered to be very popular with tourists will ensure that you will attract scammers. I was with a non-Asian guest and the tuk tuk ask for "200 THB" for a short trip to MBK which is criminal. Please ask the hotel front desk to call a taxi for you for longer trips. The hotel lobby also has a small tour company which provides day trips in sedans, SUVs or vans. There is a small laundry service nearby but I used the coin laundry in walking distance and Kikuya an expensive dry cleaner in Sathorn Square when I was short on time.
