Saithong Guest House Old City

I really enjoyed my stay at this guesthouse, so much so that I extended my stay from one to two nights. For me, the rooms were amazing. They are decorated with ornate details and bronze and warm hues. The windows are stain glass which creates fun color variations within the room. This does filter out a little of the natural light, creating a (what I felt) was a cozy, safe space. There are also plenty of electric lights inside the rooms and bathrooms, as well as air conditioning, free wifi, and hot water in the shower. However, I would recommend asking to see a room before paying to know what you are saying yes too due to the unique interior design. In the middle courtyard there is a fountain, so I fell asleep and woke up to the sound of water. There is also free (instant) coffee, tea, hot and cold water, and crackers in the courtyard. Above this, there is a small loft area where you can sit and read or talk with friends. Also, THE PLACE IS QUIET! It is set back from the road a little bit, so you will have to walk down an alley to get to the guesthouse. I never heard the neighbors once and the staff are quite, respectful, and freindly. There was one time no staff member was near the desk and I just waited for maybe one full minute and someone came over to help me. This guesthouse is also right off of the road that has the Sunday night walking market, so this attraction and others are not far away. The rooms are made for two, but as a solo traveler, my fee was 700THB. More expensive than the group rooms in hostels, but I thought it was worth it for some space an quiet.
