We were really pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I'd booked it last minute without the normal amount of research I put in, but it turned out to be great! The room was enormous, with a good sized bathroom and 2 small balconies. It was also exceptionally clean. The owners are very friendly but just generally leave you to get on with it- there's no restaurant/bar/tour service etc. Some people might see that as a downside, but personally that's how I like it in a city. The location is a big bonus. It's along the border of the old town (opposite the moat) about a 2 minute walk from the Thapae gate. Also, if you do stay here, please go to the Tiny Bar opposite (thats what its called, and it really is tiny) and say hello to Laa, from Tom and Emily. Stop and have a drink with her, she's hilarious and so friendly! Overall, we loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone coming to Chaing Mai.
