First thing is AVOID AT ALL COSTS the current online "booking" website which shows "no rooms available" so you must contact the owner directly as currently TripAdvisor does not directly book this place -- and its "booking" is controlled by a competitor. Find a way to make your own "booking" to book this place. I loved my stay because: -- The owner and operator, Pat, is gracious, kind, friendly and she's a GREAT cook for your included breakfasts. -- The grounds are a gorgeous garden, a place of quiet serenity. -- The building is a traditional Thai house (designed by her son, an architect I was told, in a beautiful style, and built by the family (I assume they hired contractors, but closely supervised the work). -- The ceiling fans in the rooms kept my room completely cool and comfortable during the intense heat of the day; at night I turned off the fans as, with with windows open, the room was quite cool and comfortable for sleeping. (There are metal security barriers outside the windows, which made me feel utterly safe leaving my possessions and valuables in the room, and anyway the property has a nice wall around it). -- The bed was SUPER comfortable (firm) and the pillows were just right. -- Air-conditioning is in all rooms but you must pay extra for it. My advise is try the ceiling fans when you check in, and, if after 30 minutes or so you feel the room is too hot, you can 'upgrade' to having the A/C but I *never* would have used it, the fan was enough. Finally the location is great, a quiet area, 15-20 minute walk to the night market, great local restaurants nearby, along a regular street (one lane each direction, rather than a major thoroughfare with heavy traffic). If you're a lap swimmer, you're a short walk from an "eco resort" which has a gorgeous pool available for day-use by non-guests. Night time is quiet and peaceful, with the sound of birds enjoyable night and day. There are plenty of common areas, including one indoor living room and many nooks and crannies in the large garden where you could sit and read or talk, and enjoy a cup of tea, etc. Remember to avoid "booking" the site through the awful website that told me "no rooms available". I wish TripAdvisor, or some other good website, could get at "booking" at this place.
