The Siri House

The ppl and the court yard and all of the tours they booked for us has been nothing short of amazing.  My daughter got a bug and the compassion of the staff was amazing . Highly recommend this place if that's how you want to roll . $20 a night is spot on 

The Siri House is a clean, quiet, safe and friendly accommodation. The owner, Pat, provides anything the guests may need, such as hard boiling six eggs for us every morning at 9:00 AM.  

Shoes must be removed upon entering the home, thereby keeping the floor clean.  Breakfast is consistent with freshly sliced mango, pineapple, papaya, sticky rice, instant hot drinks and anything the guests request, such as noodles with vegies, or guests may bring to Pat to prepare, such as hard boiled eggs. 

Pat will arrange any tour or excursion desired and will happily discuss details and make logical recommendations based on particular preferences. 

All rooms are non-smoking and house rules require guests to be quiet with respect to others.  The TV is located in a comfortable family room, but guests were so busy touring, there was no desire or any need to watch it.

Highly recommended for rest, relaxation and touring temples and the markets.

Amazing to have a bed, hot water in shower for just 100b. You have everything you need, even a locker a the entrance. 
Even, in the same Street in the same side, just after Roof 69, you can rent motorbike for 100b per day, what else ! 200b for one night and one day bike !

Amazing Hostel

Nice place for 100b

Was a basic hotel, but good overall, people are very friendly! Great location very near top sites in Chiang Mai. Had a bit of a problem with the blocking of the toilet but managed to get it sorted. 

Not much atmosphere for young travellers but good value for money, fairly clean.

Was very pleased with my stay here!! 

Basic but good stay and great location 

To start off with, clarification: there are two accommodations to stay in Chiang Mai with very similar names. The Siri House and the Siri Guesthouse. We did not know this until we were walking through town and came across the guesthouse. This review is for the Siri House. 

Pros: good wifi, clean rooms, laundry available, inexpensive and the air conditioning works fairly well. 

Cons: the beds are hard as rock. Feels like a sheet thrown over wood. There are lots of mosquitos in the room. You don't get a key to unlock the rooms and you can only lock them from the inside. So they are never locked. There are lockers downstairs but are only big enough for a small backpack. There is one bathroom with a shower in it per floor and the bathrooms on the main floor which are locked after 11pm. So three bathrooms for the whole hostel. They are dirty and unpleasant. The tap in our bathroom didn't turn off so you had to turn off the whole water system to stop the leaking faucet. Water pressure for shower is terrible. It is quite hard to communicate with the staff  due to language barrier. We had an early morning flight so we asked him if cabs are readily available at around 4am and he said he wasn't sure. We went to the hostel across the street and they were able to help us there. 

Overall, you get what you pay for. If your looking for a super cheap place and aren't picky, it's fine.
