The Rim Riverside Guest House

This has to be one of the best guesthouses in Nong Khai. It is a hidden gem that exceeded all my expectations. One of the absolute highlights of this peaceful guesthouse is the kindly owner Mr Tung, a genuinely kindhearted gentle man whose absolute priority is your comfort and well-being. He will go out his way to help you. The guesthouse is situated in a peaceful residential area but still very close to everything. My refreshingly simple and uncluttered room was spacious, absolutely meticulous, bright and airy with a comfortable bed and good air conditioning. The room had a fridge and complimentary water was provided. For me it was perfect. Furthermore, with a waterfront setting, my room enjoyed a fabulous view of the Mekong River. The stairs to my room were quite steep so be mindful of this if you have mobility concerns. WiFi was excellent and free bikes are available for guests to use. Scooter rental can also be arranged for just 200THB a day. There is a laundry and many convenience stores nearby. Whilst breakfast is not available there is an excellent German owned bakery (Tuesday to Friday only) close by which does serve simple breakfasts. Alternatively, a nearby market (Chaiyaporn Market) serves Thai breakfast’s. There is a small coffee shop actually attached to the guesthouse which does receive very good reviews. I cannot recommend Rim Riverside Guesthouse highly enough. As it is a small guesthouse I would advise booking ahead to avoid disappointment.
