Im currently doing the Mae Hong Son loop with a buddy and arrived in Pai a few nights ago. After a night in another guesthouse with the worst beds I've slept on yet in Thailand we journeyed out looking for an alternative. After stopping at several that were just ok and hearing about Common Grounds overpriced privates (we're 28 and 33 and sleeping in dorms is a last resort) we stumbled upon Ever Green. The lady that works here is incredibly sweet and after initially quoting us 350 baht each for our own private bungalows she dropped the price after hearing we were staying more than one night. The bungalows are set behind the main house and are hidden from the sun by a variety of gorgeous trees. They are only fan rooms which I actually prefer (AC in this heat gets me sick). One of the most unexpected and amazing parts was the beds. After sleeping on rock hard singles and doubles for so long getting into a pretty soft king size bed with way above average linens was fantastic. This wasn't the most social guesthouse so don't expect to meet people here but it's located in the middle of town, on one of the quieter alleyways so you won't be bothered by the noise from the bars on the main road. It's a quick walk away and meeting people in Pai couldn't be easier.
